The Physics Laboratory which is equipped with the latest instruments occupies an area of 252 sq.m. It can accommodate up to 65 students at a time to perform experiments as prescribed in the Anna University curriculum. English Language Laboratory

Understanding the importance of English language in the higher education system, the department maintains a well equipped laboratory. The Laboratory syllabus is so designed as a skill based curriculum with a global perspective by the University. This Laboratory aims at honing the communicative, social, interpersonal and professional skills of the students to enable them to emerge as employable engineers and good competitors in the corporate world.

Research Activities

The academic plethora of the department is supported by Seven doctorates, three of them are about to complete Ph.D., and most of the remaining faculty have registered for Ph.D. The department evinces a keen interest in the publication of research papers in reputed and refereed journals. The department has already published more than 75 research papers in International journals and over 25 in national journals and conference proceedings.

Tamil Mandram

Despite a tremendous interest shown in the field of Engineering and Technology, the department shows s keen interest and thirst for Tamil Language, its tradition and culture through the activities of Tamil Mantram.

English Literary and Oratorical Club (ELOC)

ELOC was introduced in the year 2008 to help students attain fluency in English Language through different forms and genres. Students are trained to participate in various events like group discussion, debate, extempore, book review and individual presentation. English language workshops are conducted to help them improve their communicative language. Many students are benefitted and they have also given their testimonials.

The Separate Boys & Girls hostel with all necessary infrastructure & facilities is situated within the campus. Excellent Hostel facilities are provided for the students coming from various part of the world. The ambience is so much of a home. Hence the hostel can be called a home away from home. Care is taken to provide nutritious and hygienic food to all. There is lot of variety in the Menu as the hostel caters to students from all over South India and abroad. The Hostel wardens give good attention to every detail because they are present round the clock.

The National Service Scheme of HIT Coimbatore was initiated over four years ago with a sincere vision to benefit the society, creating in due course a country with equality in thought and opportunity. And it has continually strived towards the fruitful manifestation of this vision ever since.

Every institution has a vision whose rightful embodiment defines its mission; the NSS of HIT Coimbatore has one too. We at NSS function with a mission to mobilize our nation’s youth into a sect of progressive citizens and imbibe in them an inclination towards social service.

The National Service Scheme of HIT Coimbatore looks forward for socially relevant initiatives, taken up as individual projects to create an impact on NSS volunteers as well as on the society. As we battle corruption, greed, hunger, poverty, and illiteracy, we hope that one day our country will once again be restored to its Historic Glory. To this brilliant future we must commit, for work is left and it us who lead the nation to do what is our calling.

The NSS of HIT Coimbatore has consciously undergone a series of structural and ideological changes in order to foster creativity and innovation in all its activities. Our motto is HUMANITY THROUGH SERVICE. We actively promote Projects that are related to the theme of education, though we will support any project related to helping others.

The new NSS dreams of a system where the sky is the limit. Where reinventing the wheel is not the order of the day.

Hindusthan Institute of Technology, Coimbatore established during the academic year 2009-10 with the twin objective of evoking awareness towards social responsibilities among the youth and involving the energetic section of the society in the voluntary and responsible programs of INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY.

Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitments. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution in meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Youth Red Cross programme. This has been designed to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers and beneficiaries, but also as partners in management. The programme focuses on the following areas:

Promote life and health through training and education on safety, primary health care and healthy living

Encourage community service through training and education

Disseminate the seven fundamental principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement through activities that encourage the Red Cross ideals

Promote international friendship with activities that cultivate a humanitarian spirit

Technical support in the development of youth programmes, fund-raising, identification of material and human resources

The youth unit aims to have young people recognized by Societies leadership as equal partners who address the needs of the most vulnerable.
