The Preliminary Exam is the first stage or round of the Selection Process for IBPS Clerk 2024. The stage deals with an online examination conducted by IBPS to judge the applicants on common grounds based on their knowledge and skills. The examination is an objective test with a time duration of one hour. The main subjects of this examination consist of English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. It has mostly been reported that the level of competition in this stage is very high. This is due to the number of candidates applying for the examination which usually reaches lakhs every year. The same is expected to be for this year, therefore, candidates applying for this examination must prepare themselves well and then appear in the examination. Only the candidates who have successfully given the Prelims can check their IBPS Clerk 2024 Result through their official website. A cut-off list is then released with the list of the selected candidates eligible for the next stage of the Selection Process.
The second stage of the Selection Process is the Mains Examination. Candidates clearing the Prelims Cut-Off are allowed to get their IBPS Clerk 2024 Mains Admit Card. Being the second stage of the Selection Process, the Mains Exam helps in refining the search for the best candidates for the different clerical cadre posts. Like the Prelims, the Mains will also be conducted through the online medium but for 2 hours 15 minutes (135 minutes). Candidates must go through the Exam Pattern and Syllabus of the Mains exam to understand the paper in a detailed way. The exam, however, consists of subjects like Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with specialreference to Banking) and Computer Knowledge. Candidates who mark their place clear in this exam are forwarded to the next level round of the Selection Process which is also the Final Round of selecting the best contenders for the vacant posts.
The last stage is the stage of the Interviews, which is also termed as the Final Stage of the Selection Process. The candidates successfully reaching this stage must face a round of interviews conducted by the participating organisations of IBPS Clerk. Candidates must know that the marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination stage-I will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination Stage-II will be added to the marks obtained in Interview Stage-III (if the interview is held) for preparation of the final merit list. Final selection will be done on the basis of the candidate's performance in the test (main examination) and interview (if the interview is held) taken together.
The results of the candidates who are eligible for the Interview and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank's website.
