Robert Gordon University or RGU is a public university in Aberdeen in Scotland. This educational institution was founded by Robert Gordon in 18th Century. In the beginning it provided the poor basic education and reasonable start in life, later it started giving vocational and technical training to students between 10 to 16 years of age. In 1910 it became Robert Gordon Technical College and in 1992 it received the status of University and became Robert Gordon University. Currently, RGU is recognized by Privy Council. TheQS Global World Ranking of RGU is #801-1000, in 2019 for European Teaching its rank is #151-200.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The campus of RGU is located in the South-western suburbs of Garthdee. All the administrative and academic departments are located in Garthdee. The university offers various Undergraduate and Graduate courses and short-term Professional courses. Full-time and part-time mode of education is also available. RGU is divided into 9 academic schools. The courses offered by University are Engineering, Law, Arts, Architecture, Business, Health Science, Fashion, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social studies, Information Management, Communications, Energy, Pharmacy, Media, Accounting, and Finance. RGU has its own Physiotherapy clinic, Sports center, Library, and all students have access to them.

Founded in 1729 the University has a history in education of over 250 years, yet in 2013 it became the UK's most modern university with the opening of its £170 million campus development at Garthdee. Aberdeen is Scotland's third most populous city with a total estimated population of 218,000. Furthermore, RGU has an outstanding graduate employment track record. RGU is the top university in the UK for graduate employment according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and they have the lowest unemployment rate for graduates in Scotland and second-lowest in the whole of the UK at 2.8% (The Sunday Times University Guide 2013).
