It has also been accredited by both AICTE and NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and has been granted the status of a Technical Institute by AICTE. Our Take:
Acharya Institute of Technology offers a plethora of courses to its students, but the high fees they charge do not necessarily translate to high-quality education. While some faculty members are well-qualified, a significant number of them are recent graduates who lack the necessary knowledge and teaching skills to provide an exceptional learning experience. This discrepancy has been noted by some students who feel that the institute could do more to ensure that the quality of education matches the cost of tuition.

Our Take:
Acharya Institute of Technology has an impressive infrastructure that facilitates an enriching learning experience. The campus is spread across a vast expanse and features state-of-the-art facilities, including well-equipped laboratories, modern classrooms, a well-stocked library, and cutting-edge research centres. The institute also provides comfortable and spacious hostels for its students, complete with all necessary amenities. The sports complex and recreational facilities on campus ensure a healthy work-life balance for the students. A notable feature of the architecture of each building is its top-down view, which resembles the initials of its associated department (e.g. M for Mechanical, E for Electrical).
Acharya Institute of Technology Internships & Placements
The institute has a placement cell which works to get students placed in prominent companies. However, there are no AIT placement statistics available on the institute's website or any other online platforms. Some of the companies that recruit students from this institute include TCS, Godrej, Kotak Mahindra, Byjus, Voltas, and others. The average package offered to students ranges from INR 2-5 LPA. However, several students who have graduated from the institute claim that the placement scenario is not very promising as only a handful of students get placed with low packages. It is also noteworthy that the institute's website claims a 100% placement record, but there is no concrete evidence to support the same.
Acharya Institute of Technology Diversity Representation
Take a look at the diversity representation at Acharya Institute of Technology as per the NIRF 2023 data.
Course | No. of Male Students | No. of Female Students | Within State | Outside State | Outside Country |
UG (4 Years) | 2744 | 872 | 2552 | 982 | 82 |
PG (2 Years) | 208 | 139 | 256 | 88 | 3 |
Our Take:
At Acharya Institute, the student body is diverse and inclusive, providing a rich cultural experience for all. The exposure to various ideas and ethnicities is a great advantage for students. However, when it comes to undergraduate courses, the male-to-female ratio seems to be imbalanced. The institute must take proactive measures to attract and enrol more female students, ensuring equal opportunities for everyone.
Acharya Institute of Technology Management/ Administration
The college's Governing Council comprises 11 members, including five from the JMJ Education Society, one from the Indian University Grants Commission, and others nominated by the AICTE, Government of Karnataka, Department of Technical Education, and university. The Principal heads the Academic Council, while deans, Controller of Examinations, and faculty manage enrollments, academics, and assessments. The Director of Administration oversees college administration, and the Director of Research and Development leads research. Placement is managed by the Principal, HR Director, and a subject expert. Each academic department is headed by a department head, and faculty serve as proctors for students, supervising 20 per semester.
Our Take:
From the placements and rankings of the institute, it appears that the management is more interested in developing the infrastructure and organizing events. Unfortunately, many students have reported that this college constantly demands money for various things. For example, they require students to pay for practicals, TCs, and even keep their original documents when they enroll. Furthermore, they take money for community and hospital postings but fail to provide them. Additionally, some claim that the faculty at this institute is not at the professor level. Instead, they are either lab assistants or assistant professors who teach here on a three-month contract, which results in poor teaching quality.

Acharya Institute of Technology Expectation vs Reality: CollegeDekho Verdict!
As with any other private institute in India, Acharya Institute of Technology has a remarkable infrastructure that caters to the holistic learning needs of students. The institute holds a wide range of events and festivals that serve as a great platform for students to unwind and explore their talents and interests beyond the confines of academic books.
However, it has been observed that the institute falls short when it comes to two crucial aspects - placements and rankings. These two factors hold a critical place in the decision-making process of students while selecting a college, and unfortunately, the Acharya Institute of Technology fails to meet their expectations. Many students have raised concerns about the authenticity of the institute's claims regarding placements and rankings, with some even alleging that the institute charges money for various purposes.
These issues are a cause of concern and need to be addressed to ensure transparency and fairness in the admission process. Also, many years ago, the institute was in the news when a third-year engineering student was stabbed to death, allegedly by his classmate, after the two got into an argument over attendance shortage in class on Wednesday afternoon.
