This change has been introduced due to the exclusion of a few topics during the COVID-19 pandemic, from the class 11th and 12th of other school boards like Bihar School Education Board, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Nagaland Board of School Education, and Board of Secondary education Manipur.

Hence, many chapters that are excluded from NCERT are now included in the NEET Syllabus and vice versa. To ensure that students complete the NEET 2024 syllabus, candidates must go through the official syllabus and study each topic completely. Chapters that are not included in the syllabus can be studied from online or offline study materials. 

New vs Old NCERT Books for NEET 2024 Preparation

The NCERT Books have been revised in the year 2017, 2019, and in 2021. This change in the new NCERT Books’ syllabus has been made to ensure that students do not feel burdened post-pandemic. During a pandemic, many state boards deleted a few topics from their syllabus, and to create balance, NCERT Books were revised.
