All About BCA
BCA or Bachelors in Computer Applications is an undergraduate programme of three years duration where students learn a great deal about computer languages. Students fascinated by the world of computers and its applications join the BCA programme. The value of a BCA degree is no less than a B.Tech or B.E degree in information technology or computer science. BCA is offered in both regular and distance mode. The course is either divided into the semester or yearly mode. Students with a BCA or higher degree become valuable assets to IT sector companies and MNCs.
Who is Eligible for BCA?
Those candidates who have cleared their qualifying 10+2 exam from a recognised Board in Science stream with Computer Science and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are fit to join the BCA programme. The candidates must also make sure that they clear their respective qualifying exam with a minimum aggregate of 50% or more to be considered eligible for the BCA programme.
Entrance Tests for BCA Admission

LUCSAT - Every year, Lucknow University conducts an entrance exam for admission into various undergraduate degree programmes and BCA is one of them. LUCSAT, also known as the Lucknow University Computer Science Admission Test is a state-level entrance exam for admission into the BCA programme offered by the Lucknow University. It is a 100 marks paper.
KIITEE - or Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology University Entrance Exam is a University-level entrance exam which is conducted for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate courses except for admission into medical courses, for which NEET scores are accepted. KIITEE is an online exam where the candidates have to answer 120 questions to qualify for BCA admission.
IPU CET - also known as the Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test, its is again a University-level entrance exam conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different fields of study. It is also a gateway exam for BCA admission at GGSIPU.
Career Scopes after BCA
