Eligibility Criteria for NEET Bihar PG Counselling 2024
To participate in Bihar PG Counselling 2024, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
The candidates must have passed the MBBS exam from any Bihar State Medical College included in the Medical Council of India. The criteria may be modified for Private Medical Colleges and related directives of the Department of Health, Government of Bihar.
Applicants who are permanent residents of Bihar and who were admitted to the MBBS course on the basis of a competitive examination conducted on behalf of the Government of Bihar or by CBSE (under All India Quota) prior to the bifurcation of Bihar in Jharkhand Medical Colleges and who obtained the MBBS degree are also eligible for the allocation of a seat.
The applicants who have finished the rotating internship are also eligible to apply for the counselling process.
There is no age limit for appearing in PG Medical Counselling 2024.
Candidates from the general or unreserved category must have secured at least 50% marks and candidates from the SC, ST, EBC & BC categories must have scored a minimum of 40% marks in NEET PG 2024 in order to be eligible for admission to any Postgraduate medical course.
On the day of counselling, candidates eligible for the reserved category will be admitted based on the state government rules.
The candidates must have obtained permanent registration from MCI or from the Bihar State Medical Council. An applicant who has not received a permanent registration from the Medical Council of India or the Bihar State Medical Council but who is otherwise qualified may be authorized to appear for the PG Medical Counseling 2024 but one must obtain the same within one-month time duration from the date of admission to PG Courses as per the Medical Council of India guidelines.
The candidate must be an Indian citizen. A candidate who is not a permanent resident of Bihar but who has passed the MBBS exam from the Medical College in Bihar is also eligible for the counselling process.
Candidates who have completed MBBS / BDS outside of Bihar are only eligible to be admitted to private medical/dental colleges/universities.
An applicant who is working either in government or elsewhere will only be allowed to appear at the 2024 PG Medical Counseling if he presents a "no objection" certificate from his employer on the condition that, if chosen, he will be given a study leave to pursue the course.
In the absence of such a "no objection" certificate, a candidate who is an employee of the Bihar government will be issued a temporary admit card. However, when selected, he will have to produce a relieving certificate from his controlling officer
The employer's relief letter shall be submitted on or before the date of admission.
NEET Bihar PG Counselling 2024 Application Process
As mentioned above, the NEET PG counselling for admission to Bihar colleges is held online. Therefore, candidates must be well aware of the various steps and documents that need to be adhered to when participating. The steps to register and complete the Bihar PG Counselling application process are explained below:
Step 1: Registration
In order to register, the applicant will need to fill in the information requested in the NEET PG Application form shown on the computer screen. He/she will have to provide a valid email ID and mobile number since all information about registration will be sent to the candidate through emails and SMS. The received email and SMS should contain an Activation Code which will be used by the applicant to activate their account. After that, the candidate will need to click on the submit button
Step 2: Personal Information
After successfully completing the basic registration process, all candidates are required to enter their personal details such as candidate’s name, age, educational qualification, parents' detail, contact information, income details, identify proof, etc. Candidates will be able to submit their their personal information for the record only after logging into their account by activating their login credentials and signing in on the official website. Once successfully completing this process, candidates must click on the "submit" button after careful considerations of the information entered. It is important to note that once the candidate's personal details are submitted, they will not be eligible to make further modifications to it afterwards.
Step 3: Upload Photo and Signature
After entering personal information, the candidate will need to upload a list of important documents required for their selection during their admission registration process. These include, their latest passport size photograph, and candidate’s signature. Candidates are required to submit their signatures in both Hindi and English (Not in capital letter) languages. It is important to note that all candidates must scroll through the required file size and file format for submitting the following documents prior to clicking on the ‘Save and Continue’ button. After successfully uploading the photo and signature files, candidates will be directed to the next step of the application form fill-up process.
Step 4: Educational Information
The next step is the submission of the educational qualification proof on the official registration portal. All candidates are required to upload a scanned copy of their Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets, Class 12 pass certificate, and other educational requirements in a PDF format, within the specified size dimension limit. It is important to strictly follow the instructions provided by the concerned authority regarding the documents uploading and submission, to avoid any last-minute cancellation of the application form. Once successfully completing the uploading process, candidates may click on the ‘Save & Continue’ button.
Step 5: Preview the NEET PG Application Form
Next, the candidate must verify all the information in every step. If any information is found to be wrong, then the applicant will need to click on the ‘Back to Edit’ button and make the corrections needed (if any). Once this is done, he/she will need to click the ‘Save & Continue’ option so that entered information will be updated.
If the preview of the application form is found to be correct, then the candidate will have to give his/her Declaration and click on the ‘Confirm & Submit’ button to move on to the next step i.e. fee payment.
Step 6: Payment of Counselling Fee
The next step is the payment of NEET PG counselling fee. Candidates will have to make the payment through Bank Challan or online with Net Banking/ Debit card/Credit card. Check out the requisite fee amount for all categories below:

Step 7: Choice-Filling & Locking
After the successful payment of fees, candidates will have to enter the names of the NEET colleges in order of preference (choice filling) and after a quick review, they will need to lock those choices (locking). They should also take a printout of the locked-in choices for future reference.
Step 8: Seat Allotment
NEET PG Seat allotment will be done based on the choices provided by the candidates and the availability of seats in Bihar colleges. Although candidates are usually assigned colleges by MCC as per their preferences, sometimes, it may so happen that due to differences in All India Ranking or limited seats, a candidate does not get a seat in the desired institute. In such cases, the candidate may have to await further vacancy announcements or opt for another college.
Step 9: Reporting to Allotted Colleges
The final step of the registration process is the reporting to the allotted college for admission confirmation. This stage requires the candidates to carry their list of important documents submitted during the time of the registration process, to partake in the physical document verification process conducted by the respective institutes. This marks the confirmation of the seats allotted to the candidates and henceforth, grants them to commence their academic session thereon. Candidates must report to their allotted colleges along with the Allotment Letter and other relevant documents.
