BTech admissions through CUET 2024: Did you know? Even if you haven’t scored well in JEE Main, you can now apply for CUET 2024 to get admission to BTech courses in India. To secure a seat in BTech programe at DU, candidates must clear the CUET UG 2024 exam. On July 28, 2024, the NTA released the CUET UG 2024 results on its official website, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG. Download CUET results to check your B.Tech score at Delhi University. Following the release of the results, the participating universities or colleges that offer BTech admission through CUET will soon begin the counselling process. The university's official website will soon include a link for application registration. Only qualified applicants may register. The merit list will be released following registration.

Through the exam, candidates are shortlisted for admission to various UG programs including BTech programs at 45 Central Universities of India. Even though JEE Main 2024 is the main exam for admission to Engineering programmes, candidates can also get admission to BTech through CUET 2024. The central universities in India are now considering CUET scores for admission to BTech courses.

Is CUET for Engineering?

CUET is conducted for admission to UG and PG courses at central universities of India. However, one question which rises in many aspirants' minds is that is CUET for Engineering? Even though most of institutes/ universities in India accept admission to BTech programs through JEE Main, Central Universities in India have started taking admission on the basis of CUET also. This means even if candidates do not have a valid score in JEE Main, they can get admission to Engineering programmes through CUET also. So, yes CUET is also for Engineering.

There are various central universities in India that accept BTech Admissions through CUET 2024. It is important for candidates to note that each of the universities has its own eligibility criteria which need to be fulfilled for admission. 1. Banaras Hindu University

BHU Varanasi has been approved by NAAC and given an "A" grade by the UGC.  According to the NIRF Ranking 2022, BHU is placed sixth among the Top Universities in India. Admission to BTech courses at BHU is done on the basis of CUET.

1. Delhi University

Delhi University offers over 500 programmes in a wide range of disciplines including literature, law, politics, linguistics, technology, sciences, management, and so on. The popular DU courses are B.Tech, BA, MA, LLB, LLM, MBA, MCA, M.Sc, M.Tech, etc. The Delhi University course admissions for UG and PG courses are based on CUET scores. The University of Delhi is recognized by UGC and accredited with an A+ by NAAC. 

1. Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is one of India's largest central universities, with over 37327 students enrolled. AMU offers over 300 courses in both traditional and modern fields of study. Apart from common courses such as BA, B.Voc., BSc, and so on, the university is also well-known for its B.Tech and MBBS programmes. Admission to courses is based on the CUET exam.

1. Assam University

Assam UniversitySilchar was established as a central university by an Act of the Parliament of India in 1994. The university comprises 16 schools of study, more than 50 departments, 6 interdisciplinary centres of study and 77 affiliated colleges. Assam University was ranked 93rd in the NIRF ranking 2021 among overall universities. Admission to BTech programs at Assam University is based on CUET exam.

1. Jawaharlal Nehru University

Jawaharlal Nehru University courses offered are over 100 at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. The subjects of arts, science, computer applications, medicine, engineering, law, mass communication, and management are all covered by the courses. JNU admission is also provided in diploma, advanced diploma, and certificate programmes in a number of languages. Common University Entrance Exam (CUET) is used to determine admission to undergraduate and graduate programmes.

CUFE is a Private college. The college is accredited by AICTE. Christ University-Faculty of Engineering offers 13 courses across 1 stream namely Engineering. Admission to BTech programs at Christ University is based on the CUET exam.

1. Chandigarh University

Chandigarh University (CU) is one of the finest universities in Punjab. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded the university with an A+ grade, and it is the youngest and only private university in India to receive an A+ in the first cycle of accreditation, as well as the only state private institution in Punjab to be recognised by NAAC. The Chandigarh University course admissions are based on the CUCET exam.

Jamia Millia Islamia course admission is offered for several programmes through CUET scores. Jamia Millia Islamia courses are approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission). The admission is offered for popular courses such as B.Tech, BA, B.Sc, M.Sc, MBA, M.Tech, and, PhD, and others.

Tezpur University (TU or TEZU) is a well-known central university located in Assam. It was established in 1994 by an Act of Parliament. Tezpur University is accredited with the NAAC grade 'A.' Tezpur University courses are offered through four schools, the School of Sciences, School of Management Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Engineering.

KR Mangalam University was established in 2013 and is situated in Gurgaon, Haryana. It is one of the most prestigious private universities in the Haryana region. It is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the Council of Architecture (COA), and, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Admission to BTech programs at K.R. Mangalam University is based on the CUET exam.

1. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University

BBAU Lucknow is a central university located in the Vidya Vihar area of Lucknow. The university offers courses in multiple streams like Engineering, Humanities, Business, Education, and, Law, to name a few. Admission to BTech programs at BBAU is based on the CUET exam. 

1. Central University of Karnataka

The Central University of Karnataka is approved and well-accredited by UGC. The CUK UG courses include B.Tech, BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, and LLB. Admission to BTech programs at the Central University of Karnataka is based on the CUET exam.

1. Central University of Haryana

The Central University of Haryana (CUH) campus was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Mahendergarh, Haryana. The university has received UGC recognition and NAAC accreditation. Admission to BTech programs at the Central University of Haryana is based on the CUET exam.

Kashmir University is a UGC-approved university which is graded ‘B++’ by NAAC in 2017. Thecourses are offered in a wide range of subjects and different levels of study. How to Get BTech Admissions Through CUET 2024?

Central Universities will start BTech Admissions Through CUET 2024 after the result declaration. Candidates who qualify for CUET 2024 will have to fill out the application form for their respective colleges. The CUET 2024 merit list will be released by each university separately on the official website. Candidates who have their names in the merit list will be allotted ranks based on their performance. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of ranks secured by candidates. Further, selected candidates will have to visit the college where they have secured admission, submit documents for verification, and pay the application fee to confirm their seats.

CUET 2024 Counselling Process

BTech Admissions Through CUET 2024 will be done through the counselling process which will have the following stages:

• Candidates who have secured a rank in CUET 2024 merit list will be called for the online counselling process.
• Candidates will also have to register for the CUET 2024 Counselling Process as a mandatory process.
• Initially, an online counselling process will be conducted. After that, selected candidates will have to appear for offline counselling.
• Further, selected candidates will have to visit the college where they have secured admission, submit documents for verification, and pay the application fee to confirm their seats.
• If the seats remain vacant after couselling process, CUET spot counselling will be conducted. Candidates who haven't secured a seat in the counselling process can apply for the spot round.
