IIT Bombay will release the CEED passing marks 2025 shortly after the CEED 2025 exam which is scheduled to be held during the third week of January 2025. Based on the cutoff trends from the previous year, the expected CEED passing marks 2025 are predicted to be roughly 25 for OPEN category applicants, 23 for the OBC/ EWS category, and 13 for the ST/ SC/ PWD category. Students must achieve at least the minimum score, known as the CEED cutoff or qualifying score, in Part A of CEED 2025. The qualified candidates shall be ranked on the CEED 2025 merit list.
Each participating institute determines a final rank, which may result in admissions in a particular category or the CEED 2025 category-wise cutoffs. They will also declare their admission criteria or minimum qualifying scores. Students must remember that the CEED admission cutoff and the Part A cutoff are NOT the same. Although strictly based on scores attained in Part B, a cutoff can also be designed purely to draw up an initial list of candidates eligible to be shortlisted for further admission.

Category-Wise CEED 2025 Qualifying Score: Part A
As discussed, applicants will be shortlisted based on their Part A scores. For shortlisting applicants in the GEN category, the cut-off marks (δ) for Part A will be μ + (σ⁄2) = δ, where σ represents the standard deviation of the overall distribution of marks earned by each applicant in Part A of CEED 2025 and μ is the average mark. Up to two decimal places will be used to round off the μ and σ. The candidates who fall within the reserved categories must meet a lenient CEED cutoff score of 0.5δ for ST/ SC/ PwD and 0.9δ for EWS/ OBC-NCL. The following table highlights the same:

Important: CEED Part A, or design aptitude and analytical skills assessment, is the first phase of the exam and is conducted in computer-based mode. Applicants shortlisted for Part B evaluation are only those who score higher than the Part A CEED cutoff.
Category-Wise CEED 2025 Qualifying Score: Part B
As discussed, only those applicants who made the Part-A shortlist will have their Part-B answer booklets manually checked. Subjective questions are asked in CEED Part B, and there are no sample answers available. It will be assessed using a comprehensive set of criteria specified in the question. Re-totalling or re-evaluation are NOT covered under CEED, neither such requests will be accepted in any given case.
Important: An applicant's creativity, drawing, and communication skills are evaluated in Part B, which is a pen-and-paper assessment. Only the scores gained in Part B are used to determine the final CEED 2025 results.
How are the Final CEED Passing Marks 2025 Calculated?
The relevant authorities will put together the CEED merit list 2025, which includes the preliminary and final ranks of the applicants who were eligible for the CEED counselling process 2025, based on the results of Part B. Following the aforesaid analysis, the final CEED score will be determined by allocating 25% of the weight to the marks scored in Part A and 75% of the weight to the marks scored in Part B of the examination.
