<p>Several e-commerce companies are eyeing engineering graduates from the reputed engineering colleges as to recruit them in their companies, reveal sources.
Most of the E-Commerce companies want to recruit from top engineering institutes as a part of their recruitment plans with high packages and incentives.
Online retailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Urban Ladder, PepperTap, Snap deal etc. are planning to recruit students from IIT, NIT and other institutes of repute.
Sources from the Flipkart reveals that the company has been planning to augment the strength of its technology team to 2,400 engineers.
While Snapdeal is also planning to double the strength of its tech team to about 2,000 in this current financial year.
PepperTap is looking to add another 60 engineers this year.
Significantly most of the IITians and students from the top B-schools like to join startup companies. “I would like to join a startup company as one can learn lots of things. There are lots of prospect for your career growth,” said Mohit Rana, students from IIT Delhi and who even got a lucrative offer from a startup company that is doing well in the market. Diganata Sharma, another Student from IIT Mumbai also feel that joining a startup company have its share of profits – earn and learn.
Last year 10 percent of IITian joined in such startup e-commerce companies.
"We are not limiting ourselves to any fixed number for campus hiring. We are rearing to go and will be aggressive at the tech, B-school and logistics campuses,” said a top official of HR department of Flipkart.
"We will also rely on the campuses for fresh talent as this will help widen our base of tech team”, reveals another top official of Snap deal.
“Young engineering graduates are more enthusiastic and spirited. They give better result”, said an official of cardekho.com
These companies are also coming up with new tactics as to capture these new talents. Quikr has been organizing the various programme at the campuses and eyeing participation in guest lectures and leadership series sessions.
Culture Alley is also planning to reach campuses ahead of the others, with new strategies in place to get the best catch.
Pepperfry, plans to hire young designers graduating from Indian and overseas institutes.
Companies prefer to recruit from campuses around October every year. IIT Delhi and Mumbai are expecting more e-Commerce firms including startups to visit the campuses this year.
Even some of the e-commerce companies like Urban Ladder etc planning to visit international campuses this year to attract talent in the design domain.
