GATE 2025: IIT Roorkee is the conducting body for GATE 2025. The GATE 2025 official website has been launched on June 29, 2024. The GATE exam dates 2025 are February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025. IIT Roorkee postponed the GATE 2025 registration process to August 28, 2024. GATE application form 2025 was supposed to be released on August 24, 2024, but authorities postponed it to August 28, 2024. All other GATE dates 2025 remain the same. The last date to apply for GATE 2025 without late fees is September 26, 2024. Candidates with late fees can apply till October 7, 2024. Candidates who have completed graduation or are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are eligible to fill out the GATE 2025 application form. The GATE admit card 2025 will issued on January 2, 2025. IIT Roorkee will release the GATE result 2025 on March 19, 2025. The GATE scorecard 2025 will be available from March 28 to May 31, 2025. Candidates can also download the GATE scorecard by paying late fees of INR 500 per paper from June 1 to December 31, 2025.

GATE 2025 Exam Dates

IIT Roorkee has announced the GATE exam date 2025 officially on its website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in. As per the announcement, GATE 2025 exam dates are February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025. Like every year, GATE exam 2025 will be conducted on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). The paper-wise exam schedule will be out soon. The entrance examination will be held in two shifts across multiple cities in India and abroad. GATE 2025 Shift 1 exam will take place from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM while Shift 2 will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

About GATE 2025

GATE full form is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually by one of the seven IITs for admission to Postgraduate or Master’s degree programs in Engineering, Architecture, Science, Technology, and Humanities. Through the GATE exam, candidates can get MTech admission at the prestigious NITs, IITS, IIITs and GFTIs. GATE scores are also considered for the PSU recruitment at organizations, such as NTPC, ONGC, PGCL, IOCL, etc.

GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to appear for the GATE 2025 exam must satisfy the following GATE eligibility criteria 2025 laid down in the information brochure by the conducting authority.

• Candidates who have passed or are currently in the 3rd year of their Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Architecture/ Science/ Technology/ Humanities from a recognized university. Those with a Master’s degree in a relevant subject in the field of Science are also eligible to apply for GATE 2025.

• Candidates with Indian citizenship or those from foreign countries including Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and The United Arab Emirates are eligible to sit for GATE exam 2025.

• There is no specified age limit for candidates applying for GATE 2025

• There is no restriction on GATE maximum attempts

GATE 2025 Application Form

GATE application form 2025 will be made available on August 28, 2024. Candidates will have time till September 26, 2024 to submit the application form. The GATE 2025 registration process will be conducted in online mode through the GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) portal. Step 1: Online Registration through GOAPS

• Candidates must first register through GOAPS 2025 portal by entering their full name, valid email ID, mobile number, country of residence etc.

• They must choose a unique password for future login. A system-generate OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the registered mobile number and email address for verification.

• Candidates must use the same to complete the registration process and get their unique GATE enrollment ID.

Step 2: Login and Application Form Fill Out 

• Registered candidates can log in with their ID and password to access the GATE application form 2025. They must fill in personal details, such as father’s name, mother’s name, nationality, date of birth, permanent address, photo ID number and type etc. along with educational qualifications, marks and grades obtained from 10+2 till Graduation.

• Next, applicants must select the desired GATE 2025 paper they wish to opt for and choose up to three GATE exam centres 2025 from the list provided. The test centres must be selected in order of preference. The first two exam centres must be selected from the same zone while the third one can be from any regional zones.

Step 3: Uploading of Documents

The next step of GATE 2025 application process involves uploading scanned images of the candidate’s recent passport photograph and signature along with relevant certificates. Applicants must ensure that the documents are uploaded in the size and format prescribed by the GATE authority.

Step 4: GATE Application Fee Payment

After uploading the necessary documents, candidates must proceed to pay the GATE application fee 2025 via online mode. The fee amount varies according to the candidate’s category and can be paid using Net banking/ Debit card/ Credit card facilities. Applicants can check the probable GATE 2025 registration fee below.

Step 5: Final Review of GATE Application Form 2025

After the payment of the application fee, candidates must review the GATE registration form 2025 one last time and verify all the details. They must submit the GATE 2025 application form and save a copy of the same for future reference.

GATE 2025 Exam Pattern

IIT Roorkee has released the GATE exam pattern 2025 on its website along with the official notification. The GATE 2025 exam paper is similar to the previous years. The authority has not introduced any major changes to the existing exam format. According to the GATE exam pattern 2025, the paper will have 65 questions worth a total of 100 marks. Of these questions, 10 questions will be based on General Aptitude carrying 15 marks.

Furthermore, the GATE 2025 exam will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in online mode for 3 hours. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions will majorly be asked from the syllabus of GATE 2025.
