GATE 2025 Computer Science & Information Technology: IIT Roorkee will conduct the GATE Computer Science and Information Technology (CS) exam on February 1, 2025, in two shifts. The GATE CS 1 paper will be held on February 1, 2025, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The GATE CS 2 paper will be conducted on February 1, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The Computer Science & Information Technology remains one of the most opted exams in GATE, with almost 1.5 lakh registrations in 2024. In the last 3 years, GATE Computer Science and Information Technology have been the most opted papers by the students. The competitive level of the GATE Computer Science and Information Technology is quite high and the scoring cutoff requires hard work. IIT Roorkee has also released the GATE 2025 CS syllabus and exam pattern. The GATE Computer Science and Information Technology syllabus 2025 consists of 10 sections including Digital Logic, Engineering Mathematics, Computer Organization and Architecture, Programming and Data Structures, Algorithms, Theory of Computation, Compiler Design, Operating Systems, Databases, and Computer Networks.  The national-level entrance test will be held for 3 hours and feature 65 questions worth 100 marks. List of Two Paper Combinations for GATE 2025 Computer Science & Information Technology

Candidates appearing for the Computer Science & Information Technology exam can choose one additional exam to make a two-paper combination. The GATE 2025 website has provided CSE candidates with six different subject options for two paper combinations:

GATE 2025 Computer Science & Information Technology Exam Pattern

The GATE 2025 Computer Science & Information Technology exam will be held for 3 hours in online (computer-based exam) mode. The exam will feature three main sections, Engineering Mathematics, General Aptitude, and topics from Computer Science & Information Technology. The GATE 2025 Computer Science & Information Technology exam pattern allows candidates to understand the way questions are asked and how marks are distributed. The GATE 2025 CS exam will include 65 questions for 100 marks. The GATE 2025 Computer Science & Information Technology exam will be in English language and follow a negative marking system for incorrect answers.

GATE 2025 CS Marking Scheme

The GATE 2025 Computer Science & Information Technology marking scheme allows candidates to understand how marks are awarded for each question. The GATE 2025 CS questions will carry 1 and 2 marks. However, negative marks will be awarded for each incorrect MSQ. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the marking scheme.

  • There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ or NAT questions
