GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering: The GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering exam will be held on February 2, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering is one of the highly opted papers by the students. In the previous year, 59599 students appeared for the GATE EE exam 2025 and  12596 qualified the exam. Since it's a very popular GATE 2025 exam paper students must study hard to pass the exam. The GATE Electrical Engineering syllabus 2025 and exam pattern have been released on the official GATE 2025 website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering question paper will have a total of 65 questions and a total of 100 marks. The three main sections of the exam General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Electrical Engineering will have a dedicated distribution of marks. It is important for candidates preparing for the GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering exam to have a clear understanding of the marks distribution and to plan their studies accordingly. 

The General Aptitude section covers the smallest portion of the mark distribution followed by Engineering Mathematics, and finally, the Electrical Engineering section covers the most marks in the GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering question paper.

GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering Marking Scheme

The GATE 2025 Electrical Engineering question paper features mainly three types of questions, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type questions (NATs). The exam will have a total of 65 questions and they will carry 1 and 2 marks. The exam has no partial marking for MSQs, however, negative marks will be deducted for various MCQs. The weight of the negative marks will depend on the mark the question carries.

  • For a wrong answer chosen in an MCQ, there will be a negative marking.

  • There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ or NAT questions.
