GATE 2025 Statistics: Exam Date, Syllabus, Question Papers, Pattern, Cutoff

GATE 2025 Statistics: IIT Roorkee will be conducting the GATE Statistics 2025 exam. The GATE exam 2025 is scheduled on February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025. The official GATE 2025 ST exam date will be announced shortly. Around 2500 students have registered for the Statistics exam in the last 3 years, out of which around 1450 students appear to have enrolled for the test. With over 2500 students registering yearly for GATE Statistics, it can be said that Statistics is not a popular GATE paper. On contradictory, qualifying for a GATE Statistics paper is not easy as there are limited seats in the M.Tech statistics specialization in the GATE participating colleges. 
Talking about the exam, the GATE 2025 test will be held for duration of 3 hours and the paper will have a total weightage of 100 marks. Furthermore, the GATE 2025 ST syllabus involves topics such as Matrix Theory, Standard Discrete and Continuous Univariate Distributions, Non-parametric Statistics, etc. After the candidates qualify for the GATE 2025 Statistics exam, they will be able to get admission to the IIT’s/ NIT’s offering the course.

After the examination of GATE Statistics 2025 is conducted, IIT Roorkee will release the cutoff on its official website. GATE 2025 Statistics Exam Dates

The exam dates pertaining to GATE exam 2025 have been announced on the official website. The national-level entrance test is set to be held on February 1, 2, 15 and 16, 2025. However, IIT Roorkee has not yet announced the GATE Statistics 2025 exam date. List of Two Paper Combinations for GATE 2025 Statistics

The list of GATE two paper combinations has been released. Candidates who choose statistics (ST) as the first paper can choose any of the following papers as the second paper. 

• Computer Science and Information Technology (CS)
• Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA)
• Mathematics (MA)
• Humanities and Social Sciences

Note: An additional GATE 2025 application fee will be applicable for the second combination subject. 

Total Number of Candidates Appeared for GATE Statistics: Past Trends

GATE Statistics is one of the few papers opted for by the candidates in the last 3 years with around 2500 students registering. In the GATE 2024 exam, 2663 candidates registered for GATE out of which only 1994 appeared. Similarly, in the GATE 2023 exam, 2561 students registered out of which 1429 appeared for the exam. There is a gap of around 500 students who register for the GATE statistics paper but don't really appear for the exam.

GATE Statistics Qualifying Trends Over the Years

With around 1400 students sitting for the GATE Statistics exam only a handful of candidates qualify. The GATE cutoff is not east to score and requires a lot of hard work.
