GATE 2025 Exam Day Instructions: Applicants who will be appearing for the GATE 2025 exam should be aware of the important exam day instructions that need to be followed. The GATE  exam day instructions include the dos and don'ts and important guidelines that applicants must be aware of to have a smooth exam experience. GATE exam day guidelines state that all applicants must be at the exam centre on time, and carry an admit card along with a valid ID card and a current photograph. We advised that applicants visit the GATE 2025 exam centre one day prior to the exam to analyze the route, and time taken to reach and be on time on the exam day. The GATE 2025 exam last-minute tips and exam day instructions provided below will surely ease the nerves of the students who are in the final phases of their preparation strategy for the exam.

GATE 2025 Exam Day Instructions

The following pointers deal exclusively with the GATE exam day instructions, i.e. it is the list of “To-Dos” for the students on the exam dates -

  1. The students will be allowed to log into the GATE exam portal at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the exam which the students must utilise to read all the important instructions.

  2. No applicant will be permitted to sit the exam unless they possess the GATE 2025 admit card, which is necessary for the GATE exam. Take the GATE 2025 admit card and print it on an A4 sheet.

  3. Bring a pen and pencil, a clear water bottle, a mask, and pocket-sized hand sanitizer with you.

  4. The students must only use the scribble pad provided to them at the exam centre for rough work and calculation. After the exam, the students must return the scribble pad to the invigilator. It is mandatory for the students to write their GATE 2025 registration number on the scribble pad before beginning to scribble on it.

  5. Before starting to attempt the questions, it is advised that the students should click on the tab - View All Questions to glance through all the questions. It will help them identify those questions or sections that can be attempted first.

  6. Sections like Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude are easy-scoring sections which means the students can attempt these two sections before turning towards the subject-specific section.

  7. Students should attempt the questions that they find easier to answer in the first half.

  8. The students must not forget to click on the “Save” button to submit their responses. If the students proceed to the next question without clicking on the “Save” button, their response will not be submitted and they have to come back later to submit their response again which can be time-consuming.

  9. The students can note down those question numbers which will include the use of scribble pads to help them get on with it easily as soon as the question pops up on the screen.

  10. If the students come across a question that seems difficult, they should move towards the next question. In the end, if time is left, they can come back and try to attempt the same.

The students must remain calm and composed and precisely undertake the calculation part to ensure they arrive at the correct solution.

  11. Students need not attempt unsure questions as it is a better alternative than losing out on precious marks.

  12. The students must chalk out their question-attempting strategy carefully and should include a “revision time” towards the near end of the session to check whether all the attempted questions carry the correct response or not.

  13. Electronic gadgets are not allowed in the Examination Hall.

  14. Any applicant detected with a prohibited object during the examination will face disciplinary action.

Last Minute Tips for GATE 2025

Here are some last-minute tips to succeed in the GATE 2025-

  • To prepare the best exam day strategy, the students must thoroughly go through the GATE exam pattern 2025which will give them a fair bit of idea regarding the type of questions that will form the backbone of the question paper.

  • The students must acquaint themselves with the functioning of the virtual calculator so they are not lost if the need to use the same arises during the exam.

  • The students must dedicate maximum time to practise as many as possible numbers of GATE 2025 previous year question papers with solutions and answer key PDF, sample test papers and GATE 2025 mock test FREE as these will help the students identify the “Holes in the Ship” and plug them.

  • It is understandable that the students must be already feeling anxious as a little more than a fortnight remains for the D-Day. CollegeDekho experts suggest that the students must not take too much stress regarding the exam as it has been noticed in the past that an anxious mind is the most vulnerable mind which stutters at the end. Listening to good music or taking refreshing breaks can work wonders, suggest the experts and previous year rank holders, to keep the stress factor at bay.

  • The students are suggested to avoid going through new topics as it might lead to confusion with only a few days to go for the examination. The best suggestion is they should focus more on strengthening their hold over those topics of which they already have a good understanding.

  • It is expected from the students that they must have been thorough with their syllabus during the undergrad years and thus much of their success will depend on how well they revise the same.

  • The best way to revise the entire GATE syllabus 2025 at the last moment is to go through the personal notes that the students must have prepared during the early days of the preparatory stages.
