GCET 2023 Passing Marks: The GCET 2023 Passing Marks refer to the minimum marks required for a candidate to qualify for the examination. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa, released the GCET 2023 Result on May 17, 2023. The GCET 2023 Cutoff list will be made available on the official website. Candidates who obtain the minimum GCET 2023 Passing Marks as per the selection criteria will be shortlisted for the counselling process. The GCET 2023 Exam was conducted on May 13 & 14, 2023.
The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted annually by DTE, Goa, for admissions to various Engineering degree and diploma courses in both govt. and private B. Tech colleges in Goa.
GCET 2023 Passing Marks
No category-wise minimum passing marks are specified by the GCET conducting authorities. The cutoff marks are determined based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance test. However, considering the previous year’s GCET Cutoff trends, a score of 66+ out of 225 is desirable to get admission into the best GCET participating institutes in Goa.

The Goa CET 2023 paper is conducted for a total of 225 marks with 75 marks allotted to each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. According to experts, out of the total marks allotted, 140+ is a very good score for admission to B. Tech and Polytechnic courses in the best government B. Tech colleges in Goa. Candidates must note that the ranks in the examination are determined on the basis of the GCET scores. How Are GCET 2023 Passing Marks Calculated?
The qualifying marks for GCET 2023 are calculated on the basis of the total marks allotted to the exam paper. The question paper is divided into 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics – each comprising 75 questions of 1 mark each. This makes the total 225 marks. For each correct answer, candidates are rewarded +1. However, no marks are deducted for incorrect answers.
Thus, as per the GCET Marking Scheme 2023, the total marks secured by a candidate are calculated by adding up the marks for all the correct answers in the exam.
GCET 2023 Counselling
The Goa CET Counseling 2023 will begin soon after the results announcement. Those meeting the GCET qualifying criteria will be able to apply for the counselling rounds on the basis of the availability of seats and the admission cutoff released by the respective state colleges. Examinees are advised to keep their GCET Scorecard 2023 safe until the counselling process and GCET 2023 Seat Allotment.
