Goa B.Tech Admissions 2024 - The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Goa has scrapped GCET Entrance Exams for Engineering Courses in Goa this year. Instead, JEE Main 2024 scores will be accepted by the Goa B.Tech Participating Colleges 2024. Therefore, candidates who are waiting for GCET dates to be released have to check the JEE Main 2024 dates and register themselves accordingly. The JEE Main Session 1 Registration Process is being conducted now from November 1, 2023, and the last date to apply for JEE Mains 2024 session 1 is November 30, 2023.

As the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Goa has discarded GCET 2024 Exams, Goa B Tech Admissions 2024 will be conducted entirely on the basis of JEE Main 2024 Scores followed by JEE Advanced for IIT aspirants.

Entrance Exams Accepted By Goa Engineering Institutes in 2024

Previously, Goa B.Tech Admissions 2024 was done based on GCET, JEE Main, and BITSAT. As per the notice released recently by DTE Goa, admission to the Goa Engineering Colleges will be done based on JEE Main. Apart from JEE Main exam, BITSAT scores will be accepted for BITS Goa BTech admissions.

JEE Mains (JEE Advanced for IITs)

JEE Mains, followed by JEE Advanced is conducted for the students who want to get admission into IITs and NITs or other tier 1 colleges/universities. As per the schedule, NTA JEE Main 2024 exam date session 1 is January 24 to February 1, 2024, while the session 2 exam will be held from April 1 to 15, 2024. BITSAT

BITSAT is an entrance exam that is conducted for students who want to get admission into BIT Goa. Qualified students will be able to get admission into engineering institutes in Goa.BITSAT 2024 exam for the registered students will be conducted from the third to the last week of May 2024.

Goa B.Tech Admissions 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To become eligible for Goa B.Tech admissions 2024, the aspirants need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

• The student should have completed class 12th or its equivalent exam in 2024-25. The students who are appearing for the equivalent exam can also apply.

• The applicant should have Physics and Mathematics as their core subject in their 12th along with other vocational subjects such as Chemistry/bio/biotechnology.

• The applicant should have an aggregate of 75% in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Apart from this, the student should also score a minimum of 60% in each of the subjects.

• The age limit has been removed and candidates of any age can apply for the exam.

• The applicant should have a domicile in Goa.

Goa B.Tech Admissions 2024 Selection Process

The B.Tech selection process 2024 for Goa engineering institutes is solely based on the rank of the students in the entrance exams. The selection process of Goa B.Tech admissions via various national and state-level exams is explained in the section below.

1. JEE Main 2024

Based on the calculated cutoff score, the student will be called for counselling conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority if he/she qualifies for the test. The counselling will have 7 online rounds which will include two mock seat allotments. The seats will be allocated based on the marks scored by the students in JEE Mains. Further, the students will register for the JoSAA 2024 counselling where JoSAA and other counselling will be done.

2. BITSAT 2024

After the exam, the admit list and waitlist for BITSAT 2024 will be released online which will include the names of all the qualified students. The list will include the names of all the students who have scored above the cutoff marks and can apply for admission. The students will then apply for admission into BIT colleges by giving their 12th details and opting for the preferred course. However, the candidates whose names are included in the waitlist will be called by the colleges only if any seat remains vacant post-admission.

Goa BTech Admission Counselling 2024

Goa BTech counselling is conducted to allot seats to eligible candidates into the BTech colleges of Goa. Registered candidates are required to fill out their choice of courses and colleges in their order of preference based on which they will be allotted seats. JEE Main/ BITSAT 2024 ranks will be taken into consideration for admissions. Goa Btech seat allotment result will be released online and candidates will be allotted seats based on their rank in the qualifying exam, choices filled and availability of seats at the participating institutes. It is mandatory for all candidates to confirm their admission within the specified deadline failing which their allotment will be cancelled.
