IBPS SO Document Verification Process & Joining Formalities: IBPS SO result 2023 will be declared in April 2024. The IBPS SO preliminary exam will be conducted on December 30 and December 31, 2023, and the mains exam has been scheduled for January 28, 2024. After clearing the exam, candidates are called for the interview round, the call later for which can be downloaded online. The interview will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. In this round, candidates will have to carry their original and self-attested documents to go through the Document Verification process. Officials will thoroughly examine the documents to check their authenticity.
In case a candidate fails to carry any of the documents or submits fraudulent documents, they will be straightaway disqualified. It is necessary for candidates to score qualifying marks for the provisional allotment, which is an important part of the IBPS selection process.
Candidates who perform well in Prelims, Mains and the Interview will be provisionally recruited. Based on the number of vacancies available, candidates will be provisionally allotted to different banks. In case more than one candidate achieves the same score, the merit would be decided on the basis of the date of birth. What is IBPS SO Provisional Allotment?

- The allotment will be completed on the basis of the merit list and preference order of the candidates.
- Candidates who achieve similar marks will be listed in the merit list based on their Date of Birth. The older candidate will be chosen by the organisation as per the prevailing practice.
- Following the IBPS SO selection procedure, provisional allotments will be done on the basis of the number of vacancies available. They will also focus on the Government guidelines on reservation policy.
- According to the direction of IBPS Participating Organizations, provisionally allotted candidates can be provided posting anywhere in India. No request for change in the location shall be accepted by any of the candidates.
- A reserve list of candidates will be circulated in case of an extension in the number of vacancies. The recruitment agency has the right to cancel and reallot organisation, depending on exigencies.
What is IBPS SO Final Allotment?
The final allotment for IBPS SO includes candidates receiving a Joining Letter from the allotted banks. The Appointment letter will be sent to the candidate through post or e-mail. The information in the letter will include the following:
- Date of Reporting
- Date of Training
- Document Verification
- Medical Test Details
In the IBPS SO Final Allotment, all the documents of candidates are verified to ensure the individual's identity. After completing all these stages, candidates get joining in the allotted banks.

Candidates can go through the list of documents required by most of the banks for completing their IBPS SO joining formality. Remember, it is mandatory to submit the original as well as a photocopy of the documents. After the verification, original documents will be returned to candidates.
ID Proof
Aadhar card/PAN card/Driver’s License/Voter`s ID/Passport etc. It must be noted thatcandidates who do not have an Aadhar card should immediately apply for it, as banks need it to open a savings account/salary account.
Date of Birth Proof
Most often, the mark sheets are used to match the date of birth provided in the ID proof. To be on the safe side, you can also carry your birth certificate, as they might ask for it. So, be ready with that too.
Educational Qualifications
X & XII mark sheets, semester-wise and consolidated mark sheets of UG and PG courses, etc. should be produced. The date of passing the degree mentioned on the mark sheet or provisional certificate will be considered to check the eligibility of candidates.
According to the rule, the bachelor’s or master’s degree results should be declared or the date of the issue mentioned on your degree certification should be on or before the date mentioned in the notification.
Category/Caste Certificates
Candidates from OBC/ SC/ ST category must submit their caste certificate issued by an appropriate authority:
- Candidates from the OBC category (non-creamy layer) should provide a certificate that specifies that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer section.
- It should have been issued within one year from the date of the IBPS exam notification.
PWD Candidates: A disability certificate issued by the district medical board should be submitted.
Ex-Servicemen: Relieving letter in addition to pension payment order and proof of last held rank should be presented.
Valid Authority to Issue Caste Certificates: The OBC/ SC/ ST certificate issued by reliable authorities will only be accepted.
- Collector / Deputy Commissioner /Deputy Collector / District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Additional Deputy Commissioner / Extra Assistant Commissioner/ First Class Stipendiary Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate / Executive Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency/ Magistrate.
- Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar.
- Sub-divisional officer of the area where the candidate or his family normally resides.
