IGNOU B.Com Application Process 2024
The admission process for IGNOU B.Com 2024 will be completely conducted online. The following is a step-by-step approach for applying to the IGNOU B.Com course:
- Candidates who want to register for the IGNOU B.Com course need to visit the official website, ignou.ac.in.
- Those who are new candidates have to click on the “New Registration” icon on the applicant login area.
- A registration form will be displayed on the screen that candidates have to fill out carefully.
- While choosing a ‘Username’, candidates need to make sure that it is within 8 to 16 characters.
- The password has to be alphanumeric and between 8 to 16 characters.
- Provide the email address and phone number of the candidates and enter the captcha code as given.
- After filling in the mandatory information click the "Submit" button.
- The username and password will be sent to the candidates via email and SMS.
- Keep your Username and Password handy for future logins.
- If you have already registered i.e. you are an existing user click the "Login" button.

A non-refundable Registration Fee shall be charged along with the B.Com course fee for the first semester/ year at the time of admission. If a student applies for cancellation of application/admission and wants a refund of fee, the refund request will be initiated according to the University policy:
Before confirmation of admission: the full course fee paid shall be refunded.
After confirmation of admission: Within 15 days of confirmation of admission: the course fee paid shall be refunded after a deduction of Rs. 500.
Within 16-90 days of confirmation of admission: The course fee paid shall be refunded after a deduction of Rs.1000.
After 90 days of confirmation of admission: No refund shall be allowed.

B.Com (General) Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a recognized school board to be eligible for the B.Com (General) course offered by IGNOU.
B.Com (Accountancy and Finance) Eligibility Criteria
- Passed a recognized school board's 10+2 or equivalent exam
- Passed the ICAI foundation course or the Common PE-I/ Proficiency Test.
- Enrollment in the ICAI Professional Competence Course/ PE-II/ IPCC Intermediate/ Chartered Accountancy First Stage or completion of the Professional Competence Course/ Intermediate or PE-II before.
- Similarly, if conditions I and (ii) are met, all students who have passed the Chartered Accountancy test are eligible for admission.
B.Com (Financial and Cost Accounting) Eligibility Criteria
- Passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized school board
- Already enrolled in the ICAI Foundation course
- Students who have finished the ICAI Intermediate Course and passed all of the Foundation Course papers are also eligible. Condition (a) and condition (b) must be met
- Candidates who have completed CPT, a component of Chartered Accountancy, are ineligible for this B.Com degree (F&CA). This curriculum is only available to bona fide ICWAI students; candidates who enrolled through the credit transfer policy are not eligible for this course.

B.Com (Accounting and Finance) Syllabus
A student must complete the following courses to be eligible for the award of the degree, B.Com with Major in Accountancy and Finance B.Com (A&F). CPT/PE1/Foundation completion is required before applying for admission to B.Com (A & F). As a result, all B.Com (A & F) students receive immediate credit transfer for Part A courses. IGNOU will deliver all six courses in Part B, and the student must complete them in accordance with the IGNOU system. All six Part C courses will be offered by ICAI as part of the Chartered Accountancy First Stage, and students must complete them in accordance with the ICAI system for Chartered Accountancy.
