IGNOU PhD Eligibility Criteria 2022

To be admitted to the PhD course of IGNOU, there are certain terms and conditions that are to be fulfilled. Candidates will have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria in order to be considered for admission. Therefore, before applying, it is best to learn all about the IGNOU PhD eligibility criteria 2022.

• Candidates should have completed their master's degree from any renowned university.
• General category candidates must score a minimum of 55% in their master’s degree.
• Candidates belonging to the ST/ SC/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category are given a relaxation of 5%.
• The aggregates should be of Grade B or UGC- 7 Points excluding any grace marks.

IGNOU PhD Application Process 2022

IGNOU conducts its application process in the online mode only. Candidates who meet the basic eligibility criteria have to fill in the online application and pay the application fee (Rs. 1,000 for general category students and Rs. 800 for ST/ SC/ OBC/ Differently Abled/ Third Gender). The process is quite simple and candidates can follow the instructions given below to apply for PhD admission at IGNOU.   

• Step 1: Visit the official website of IGNOU. Read through the Information Bulletin for details.
• Step 2: Fill in the details that are asked in the application form. You will have to fill in all the personal details first.
• Step 3: Post that, you will be required to enter your qualification details.
• Step 4: You will now have to upload scanned images of your passport-sized photograph, signature, and thumb impression in jpg/ jpeg format. The size of these documents must be as follows: Photograph - 10 KB to 200 KB, Signature - 4 KB to 30 KB, Thumb Impression - 3 KB to 30 KB.
• Step 5: Make the online payment to complete the application process. As soon as the payment is made, your application form will be submitted.

Documents Required to Fill IGNOU PhD Application Form 2022

Here is a list of the documents that are required during the application process for IGNOU PhD admission 2022. • ID Proof (Adhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport).

IGNOU PhD Selection Process 2022

Admission to any of the PhD disciples offered by IGNOU is done through the same process. The students will have to meet all the necessary criteria to be admitted. The main focus is on the Post-Graduation scores of the candidate. Further, here are the requirements to be admitted to IGNOU PhD. 2022:

• Additionally, candidates must score 50% (general category candidate) or 45% (ST/ SC/ OBC/ Differently Abled) in the Entrance Test held by NTA.
• Based on the scores of the Entrance Test, candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview and Presentation Rounds.
• Selected candidates after the completion of the process will have the opportunity to take admission in their desired discipline.
• Offer letters will be sent to the selected students.

Selected students can then make the admission fees payment and secure admission in their desired discipline. Make sure to carry all the documents along on the admission day.

IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam 2022

In order to be considered for PhD admission in IGNOU, candidates are required to appear for an MCQ based еntrаnсе test that will be followed by аn іntеrvіеw round. The Syllabus of the entrance test will consist of 50% of questions on research methodology and 50% of questions on the chosen subject. A total of 100 questions will appear on the test and the exam will not follow any negative marking scheme. 

IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam 2022 Admit Card

The Admit cards for IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam 202 will be uploaded on the official website, once the registration process is completed by the university. It is compulsory for students willing to appear for the exam to download the IGNOU PhD admit card and carry it to the exam centre on the exam day.  It contains personal as well as exam related information for the candidate and is used for verification purposes.

IGNOU PhD Answer Key 2022

The IGNOU PhD Answer Key 2022 carrying the correct answers is released a few days after the exam ends. Candidates will be provided with an option to raise challenges against the answer key until the prescribed date.

IGNOU PhD Results 2022

The result for IGNOU PhD entrance exam was out on March 30, 2022. Candidates must note that the result is only made available in online mode and will not be sent through courier/ post to the address of the aspirant. In order to check the IGNOU PhD result, applicants need to visit the official website, i.e. ignou.nta.ac.in.

After the IGNOU PhD Result Declaration, the eligible students will be informed about the scheduled dates of the Interview/ Viva/ Presentation in front of the Research Committee. At this phase, experts are present in the interview session. They provide some changes as well as suggestions in their research proposal. After the final presentation or interview ends, shortlisted students will be provided with an offer letter for admission to PhD programmes.

IGNOU PhD Interview Schedule 2022

IGNOU has already announced the interview schedule for December 2021 session. The schedule was uploaded separately keeping in mind the discipline opted by the candidate.
