ITI Turner Syllabus: The syllabus of ITI Turner is constructed in such a way that it provides ITI trainees with the necessary skill set and knowledge to work as turners in industries like manufacturing, production, construction, etc. The ITI Turner syllabus covers significantly a wide range of topics like workshop calculations and science, engineering drawing, practical skills, and safety processes. 

Under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS), ITI in Turner Trade is one of the most favoured courses offered nationally by the network of ITIs. The duration of the course is two years. Core area and domain area make up the majority of the Turner trade syllabus. Professional skills and knowledge are imparted in the domain area of trade theory and practicals, while the essential core skills and knowledge are imparted in the foundational areas of workshop calculations, science, engineering drawing, and employability skills.

  • 60–70% accuracy was attained while performing tasks other than those required by the component or job.
  • A respectable degree of uniformity and neatness in the final product.
  • Occasional assistance in finishing the task or project.

75% to 90%

  • For this grade, the candidate has produced work that demonstrates reaching a reasonable standard of craftsmanship while following safety procedures and practices with minimal guidance.
  • Good proficiency with hand tools, machine tools, and workshop equipment.
  • 70–80% accuracy was attained while performing tasks other than those required by the component or job.
  • A good degree of uniformity and neatness in the final product.
  • Little assistance in finishing the task or project.

Above 90%

  • For this grade, the candidate has produced work that demonstrates reaching a high standard of craftsmanship while following safety procedures and practices with minimal or no guidance.
  • High level of proficiency with hand tools, machine tools, and workshop equipment.
  • More than 80% accuracy was attained while performing tasks other than those required by the component or job.
  • A high degree of uniformity and neatness in the final product.
  • No or minimal assistance in finishing the task or project.

The Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies (GEIMS) Pune offers a General Purpose Rating (GP Rating) course for ITI pass candidates.
