JEE Main Deleted Syllabus 2025: Candidates who are preparing for the JEE Main 2025 exam must know about the JEE Main 2025 deleted syllabus. Some topics from Physics like the Carnot Engine and its efficiency from Thermodynamics, Geostationary Satellites, Colour Code for Resistors, Resonance, Hysteresis etc have been removed. Similarly, from Chemistry Precision and Accuracy, Dimensional Analysis, and chapters like Polymers, General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals, and Surface Chemistry have been removed. Concerning Mathematics, topics like Arithmetic Geometric Progression, Square Root of a Complex Number, Binomial Distribution, etc are part of the JEE Main 2025 Deleted Syllabus.

JEE Main Syllabus 2025 Latest Update

  • NTA revised the JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025 on October 17, 2024. According to the new syllabus, NTA discontinued the optional questions in Section B for all papers (B.Tech/B.E, BArch, BPlan). Earlier, Section B used to have 10 numerical value questions in which candidates had to solve any 5 from them. However, according to the new JEE Main exam pattern 2025, no options will be provided for the questions, and all the questions will be mandatory.
  • Some of the chapters deleted from the JEE Main 2025 Physics Syllabus are Communication Systems, few topics were removed from the Experimental Skills.
  • The JEE Main 2025 Mathematics Syllabus has been reduced. Some of the chapters that were deleted from the Mathematical Inductions, Mathematical Reasoning, few topics were removed from Three Dimensional Geometry.
  • Topics deleted from the JEE Main 2025 Chemistry Syllabus are Physical quantities and their measurements in Chemistry, precision, and accuracy, significant figures, States of Matter, Thomson and Rutherford’s atomic models and their limitations, Surface Chemistry, s-block Elements, General, Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals, Hydrogen, Environmental Chemistry, Polymers, Chemistry in Everyday Life.

On the other hand, the NTA might reduce the JEE Main exam syllabus for the JEE Main 2025 exam (based on the information from media reports). However, candidates can check the latest syllabus for the JEE Main exam in the article.

  • Physics: Electromagnetic Induction, Optics, and Alternating Currents have been merged into a single chapter
  • Chemistry: p block Elements chapter is split into two chapters, one being “Group 13 to 17 Elements” and the second one is “Group 18 Elements”.
  • Mathematics: “Sets, Relations and Functions” chapter is split into two. One is “Sets and Relations” and the second chapter is “Functions”. Moreover, chapters “Vectors”, “3D Geometry” and “Linear Programming (LPP)” have been merged into one single chapter.
