How Many Attempts in JEE Mains? Candidates can take the JEE Mains exam six times in three consecutive years. For example, if a student has appeared for the class 12th board in 2025, then he/she can take the JEE Main exam in 2025, 2026, and 2027, respectively. The JEE Main exam is conducted twice a year—the January session and the April session—which makes it 6 times in 3 years. However, there is no age limit to appear for the JEE Mains exam; candidates can appear for the JEE Mains till they fulfill the JEE Main eligibility criteria.

As per the latest JEE Main 2025 exam schedule, the exam will be conducted twice in January and April. The JEE Mains January session (session 1) will be conducted from January 22 to 31, 2025, whereas the April session will be conducted from April 1 to 8, 2025. The JEE Mains January session examination process is underway and the National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to release the JEE Main City Intimation Slip 2025 on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in. How Many Attempts in JEE Mains 2025

  • Candidates who have qualified for the class 12th board exam in 2022 and have appeared for the JEE Main 2023 can appear for the JEE Mains 2025 (twice in 2025).

How Many Attempts in JEE Mains: Benefits of Two Attempts 

Candidates can appear for the JEE Mains twice a year, in January and April. Check the benefits of two attempts for the JEE Main exam in a year below:

  • The best of the two marks will be considered for the JEE Main 2025 counselling process and JEE Advanced 2025.

Mandatory Subjects in Class 12

Candidates must have secured at least 75% in the Class 12 examination. SC/ST candidates must score a minimum of 65%. Passing the subject eligibility criteria is also mandatory

Year of Appearance

Students taking JEE Main 2025 must have graduated from high school no earlier than 2020.

JEE Mains Application Form 2025 

The JEE Main 2025 application form is closed for registrations on November 22, 2024. The JEE Mains form commenced on October 28, 2024, with the release of the JEE Main notification. NTA will release the JEE Main Admit Card 2025 on the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in for the candidates who have successfully submitted their application form.
