Based on the JENPAS UG 2025 papers taken and the marks obtained, two distinct Merit Ranks will be calculated using the following approach:
a) General Merit Rank: (GMR)
Based on the score in Paper I, a General Merit Rank (GMR) will be created.
The ranking will be done in descending order of the number of marks scored. If there are any ties, tie-breaking rules would be used.
For each reserved category, a separate merit rank will be given, such as SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD Rank, and so on.
GMR will be used for admission to all courses except BHA.
The order of counselling/seat allocation/admission shall be determined solely by GMR not based on category ranks. Only candidates in the corresponding categories will be aware of the category rankings.
b) BHA Merit Rank: (BMR)
Only the score in paper II will be used to create a BHA Merit Rank (BMR).
The ranking will be done in descending order of paper-II marks scored. In the event of a tie, tie-breaking rules will be used.
For the various categories such as SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PWD/ TFW/ EWS/ Orphan/ Civil Defence, etc. separate reserved category merit rankings will be displayed.
BMR will be used to decide admission to all BHA programmes.
Only the BMR will be used to prepare a list in which seats will be not assigned based on category ranks. The category rankings are solely for the purpose of providing information to candidates in the respective categories.
c) Valid Category Details
Candidate category information is used to establish category ranks throughout the online application process, but documents are verified during the counselling process.
As a result, the candidate's certificates, documentation, and proofs must be accurate or valid as of the verification date.
If a candidate's claim is discovered to be dishonest or fraudulent during verification, the candidate's category rank will be revoked, and the candidate will be placed in the general category. Other candidates' category ranks will remain unchanged.
d) Gender
Gender will be taken as it is declared by the candidate during the online application. WBJEEB will not be responsible for any mistake committed by the candidate in declaring his/her gender during online application irrespective of whether he/she was allowed to appear in the examination and /or awarded a rank.
In both papers, the difficulty level of the JENPAS UG 2025 Exam may differ. The marks scored by a candidate in each paper, are based on the performance of students in that exam. As a result, each paper's score will be treated at par.
