JIPMER NEET Counselling 2024

Admission to MBBS courses offered at JIPMER will be done through the NEET counselling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Aspirants can take a look at the JIPMER NEET counselling process mentioned below:

  • Counselling Registration: Registering for the NEET counselling process is the first step that aspirants must take. The entire registration procedure is done online and aspirants must finish the registration process and pay the application fee online using a credit or debit card, net banking, or UPI, candidates must visit the MCC website.

  • Choice Filling & Locking: The next step of the NEET counselling process is to enter the choices for the preferred college aspirants to secure admission through NEET. Candidates need to choose the course/ college in the desired order of preference. Also, candidates must save a copy of the choices filled in for future reference. After candidates have filled out and verified their choices, they must lock or finalize the same for submission. It is important to note that once locked, the choices cannot be changed even by the MCC.

  • Verification by Universities and Processing of Seat Allotment: The NEET participating medical colleges will verify the student details of the candidates and based on the student profile and their NEET performance the seat allotment results will be released.

  • Release of Seat Allotment: After the due process, the MCC will announce the seat allotment result for candidates who registered and submitted their choices. The final seat allotment result will be issued once a provisional result has been announced and candidates have had a chance to voice any complaints. Once the seat allotment result is out, candidates could choose to accept or proceed to the institute reporting round based on their seat allotment. Alternatively, candidates can participate in later rounds of NEET counselling for better seat allotment by registering for further counselling sessions.

  • Reporting to Allotted College: Candidates who have accepted their seat allotment through NEET must visit their allotted college campus and complete further admission formalities. For instance, candidates who have been allotted seats at JIPMER must report to JIPMER Academic Centre on the scheduled date and time and complete formalities like Certificate Verification, Signature verification, Signing of honor code, Medical Examination, creation of digital campus account, Biometric capture, etc. After all the formalities are completed admission orders will be issued to the students.

FAQs

Is admission to JIPMER possible without NEET?

No, aspirants can seek admission to JIPMER Puducherry's MBBS programs based solely on their NEET exam merit. In order to be considered for admission, candidates must take the NEET exam and obtain the necessary cutoff score and ranks. However, candidates may be able to secure admission to other courses at JIPMER without NEET scores.

What is the minimum score for MBBS through NEET?

A General or OBC category candidate needs to receive at least 500 marks in the NEET to be considered for a seat in a standard medical college in India, according to the previous year's cutoff marks. A applicant from the reserved category, however, could be able to secure an MBBS seat with a score of 300 to 400. Applicants with lower NEET scores will need to attend several rounds of counselling in order to secure the seat of their choosing.

When will the JIPMER NEET Cutoff be released?

On June 14, 2024, NTA will announce the official NEET 2024 cutoff along with the results. The minimum score required for an applicant to be eligible for the NEET counselling procedure is known as the NEET cutoff. Due to an increased number of applicants than previous year, experts estimate that the NEET cutoff in 2024 may rise. Last year, candidates in the General category needed to receive a minimum of 137 marks in order to be eligible. However, the category-wise cutoff percentiles have remained constant.

What are the documents required for JIPMER certificate verification?

The documents required for JIPMER certificate verification include the following:

  • Printout of student verification form,
  • Identity proof as mentioned in NEET information brochure

However, the origins of JIPMER Puducherry can be traced back to around 1823 and it was also declared an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008.
