JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Joint Seat Allocation Authority released the JoSAA 2024 Eligibility Criteria on the official website of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development). Candidates who wish to take admission through JoSAA are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying. All the aspirants should fulfill the eligibility criteria to participate in the JoSAA Counselling 2024.

As per the JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2024, the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2024 and JEE Advanced 2024 will vary for the candidates. Who can Participate in JoSAA 2024 Counselling?
The JoSAA 2024 Seat Allocation Process is categorized into different criteria. Candidates who satisfy any of the criteria will be eligible to appear in the JoSAA Seat Allocation 2024. Check the critera wise JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2024 below.
Criteria 1 - Qualified in JEE Advanced 2024 Excluding Preparatory Courses at IITs
As per Criteria 1, candidates have to pass class 12th or an equivalent exam with Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Apart from this, they have to qualify any of the two options from the pointers mentioned below.
- Candidates must have scored 75% marks in class 12 whereas reserved category candidates (SC, ST, and PwD) have to score 65%.
- Other than the above-mentioned compulsory subjects, candidates need to have studied any of the following optional subjects Biotechnology/Biology/Chemistry/Technical Vocational Subject as optional subject.
Criteria 2 - Qualified in JEE Advanced 2024 for Preparatory Courses at IITs
According to Criteria 2, individuals interested in enrolling in preparatory courses at the IITmust have completed the 12th grade or an equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. Besides, they must satisfy any one of the two requirements listed below.
- Candidates should have achieved a minimum of 75% in the 12th grade, while applicants from reserved categories (SC, ST, and PwD) must attain a minimum of 65%.
- In addition to the mandatory subjects mentioned above, candidates must have completed courses in one of the following optional subjects: Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, or a Technical Vocational Subject.
Criteria 3 - JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2024 for NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and GFTIs Through JEE Main 2024 (B.E/BTech)
As per Criteria 3, candidates willing to take admission to NIT, IIEST, IIITs, and GFTIfor B.E/B.Tech Courses through JEE Mains should have appeared in the class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2022, 2023, or 2024. Apart from this, they must meet at least one of the following two criteria:
1. They must have achieved a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. SC, ST, and PwD candidates must have achieved at least 65%.
2. They must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12th board examination.
It is to be noted that the JEE Mains percentile calculation will be done for all the required subjects, in a single academic year only.
- In all cases, the mark sheet must be issued by the same examination board (marksheets from separate boards are not allowed).
- The marks scored in the following five subjects will be considered for calculating the aggregate marks and the JEE Main cutoff marks.
Criteria 4/5 - JoSAA Eligibility Criteria 2024 for NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and GFTIs Through JEE Main 2024 (B.Arch/B.Planning)
To be eligible for registration under the JoSAA 2024 eligibility criteria,
- Candidates applying for the Bachelor of Architecture course must pass the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).
- A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Class 12th with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with either Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Language, or a technical vocational subject as optional is required to be eligible for JoSAA 2024 Counselling.

JoSAA Registration and Choice Filling 2024
The authorities commenced the JoSAA Registration 2024 on June 10, 2024. All the qualified IIT JEE Main and JEE Advanced candidates are allowed to register and fill out their choice of colleges and courses before the specified deadline. Does CSAB require the 75 percent criteria?
Candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
Can I apply for the JoSAA counselling with a 60 percentile?
Candidates can participate in the JoSAA counseling regardless of their final rank/percentile in the JEE Main exam. However, this does not assure that they will get college. Candidates may not get a seat in their preferred college at this rank.
Where can I check the JoSAA 2024 eligibility criteria?

Can I apply for the JoSAA counseling without clearing the cutoff?
Candidates can participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling and seat allocation process either through JEE Main or through the JEE Advanced exam. If the candidate does not meet the JEE Advanced cutoff then the candidates can try through the JEE Main cutoff. However, if the candidate does not meet the JEE Main cutoff, then he/she cannot participate in the JoSAA counselling process.
Is there 75 criteria for the JoSAA Counselling process?
Yes. For the JoSAA 2024 counselling of the general category, candidates have to secure a minimum of 75% aggregate marks. For the reserved categories, the aggregate mark to be secured is 65%. However, if the candidates come under the top 20 percentile of their board, then they will also be eligible for admission.
Who all are eligible to participate in the JoSAA Counselling process 2024?
The JEE Main or JEE Advanced qualified candidates who meet the eligibility of JEE Main and JEE Advanced respectively will be eligible to register for the JoSAA 2024 counselling.
