DU college list: The University of Delhi, also known as Delhi University (DU), is a well-known public central university in New Delhi, India, that was founded in 1922 by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly. It operates as a collegiate institution, with affiliated educational facilities and academic divisions sharing management duties. With just three colleges, two faculties, and 750 students when it initially began, DU has grown to become India's most prestigious university. The institution continues to have a significant impact on the conceptualisation of the Indian education system.

Notably, candidates are now accepted to Delhi University based on their CUET results. Candidates who want to apply to the top colleges at Delhi University can do so through the CSAS 2024 portal. Following the results, Delhi University will post the DU CUET cut-off merit list on the exam's official website. Candidates seeking admission to Delhi University should consider the following list of colleges in Delhi University.

Delhi University currently enrols over 162,000 regular students and 261,000 non-formal scholars across its North, South, East, West, and Central campuses, which are home to 16 faculties and 86 departments. The institution's organisational structure comprises 77 associated institutions and five recognised institutes. This list of DU colleges is mostly split into two categories: North Campus and South Campus colleges. About Colleges Under DU

Delhi University is an esteemed institution of learning with a range of professional degrees offered by highly renowned institutions. Among them all, St Stephen's College stands out for its dedication to all-encompassing academic excellence. Lady Shri Ram College for Women, often cited as one of the top DU institutions in India, provides women with outstanding prospects to succeed academically. Furthermore, Hindu College, which is highly regarded by DU and has a dynamic faculty and distinguished reputation, is a centre for innovative research.

Based on the revised DU admissions method, acceptance to colleges under DU is decided by merit rank or by results/scores on the CUET entrance exam. While the admissions process varies throughout DU's institutions and amongst professions like engineering and medicine, you can obtain a detailed understanding of it by consulting the DU Admission complete guide. It is significant to note that the institutions also accept applications for DU ECA and Sports Quota; however, to be accepted, applicants must submit proof of affiliation and participate in trials. Thus, it is no secret that many of the best performers, directors, businesspeople, CEOs, singers, athletes, etc. have come from Delhi University.

List of DU Colleges: Admissions Procedure 2025

The admissions process for UG and PG courses at colleges under DU has been revised. For UG and PG courses, Delhi University conducts a common entrance exam known as the Central Universities Entrance Test or CUET Exam. The questions asked in these CUET entrance exams are based on the topics included in the  CBSE Board Class 12 syllabus. The competition for these entrance exams is also very high. So, students must go through the CBSE Board Class 12 Previous Year Question Papers to prepare for the same. The CUET UG exam is conducted for admission to UG courses at Delhi University, after which the CSAS counselling is conducted for final admission.

Earlier, admission to a few UG and all PG courses was given through DU-conducted entrance exams, namely the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) or the Delhi University LLB Entrance Exam followed by a Personal Interview (PI). However, from 2024, DU has begun offering PG courses through CUET PG as well.

Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) is used to determine admission to all colleges under DU based on CUET scores. There are three stages to the admissions procedure. Candidates must complete the CSAS application form in phase 1. Students can choose their preferred course and college during the second phase. Seat distribution over several rounds and final admission based on a merit list will be part of the third phase.

How to Choose Best DU-Affiliated Colleges?

Ready to embark on your college journey? If you wish to bag a seat at any of the Delhi University affiliated colleges for your BA, BSc, BTech, etc courses you might get confused when finding the right DU colleges out of multiple options. We have listed some of the factors you need to assess for pursuing your preferred course from a renowned Delhi University college

    Ranking

NIRF Ranking is considered the top parameter when making the right college choices. This supreme body assigns a rank to colleges based on their education quality, teaching, infrastructure, and otters. So, we highly recommend checking the ranking of DU colleges before taking the first step of admission. For eg DU colleges like Hindu College, Miranda House, Kirori Mal, etc have secured top ranks.

    Courses Offered

This is another vital factor determining the choice of a DU college. You have to carry out thorough research on the course offerings of the institutes. If you want to enroll in the BCom or Economics programme, Shri Ram College of Commerce is highly recommended.

    Infrastructure & Campus Facilities

DU colleges that are equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure should be on your priority list. When making an admission decision, take a tour of the campus to explore the condition of classrooms, basic amenities, and the environment of the college so that you can fulfill your academic aspirations with complete peace of mind.

    Faculty Team

To enhance your academic skills and open better avenues in the future, it is vital to get guidance from experienced teachers. Try taking recommendations from the alumni and seniors who have passed out or pursuing courses from any DU college regarding the qualifications and experience level of the professors.
