Anna University B.E/ B.Tech Admission Process:
- Anna University begins B.E./ B.Tech admissions in the first week of May.
- Every year, Anna University organises Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), a counselling process for the admission to B.E/ B.Tech courses. The varsity does not conduct an entrance exam for UG engineering courses.
- The admissions are based on the PCM score of the candidates in Class 12.
- The applicants must have at least 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 to secure admission.
- After the announcement of Class 12 results, Anna University releases notification for B.E/ B.Tech admissions.
- Students will have to fill the application form through the official website of Anna University.
- Students will have to pay an application fee of Rs. 500
- The date and venue for counselling will be issued.
- During the counselling process, students will have to opt for the college and stream of their choice. Students can give as many options as they wish to.
- Depending on the merit, i.e., Class 12 percentage and availability of seats in the college, the seat allocation will be done.
- After the allocation of the seat is made, students will have to pay Rs. 5000 to reserve the seat.
- After the submission of original documents, students will receive Admission Letter from the Head of the Institute of the allocated college.
- The admission process will end with the payment of course fee.

Anna University M.E/ M.Tech/ MCA/ MBA Admission Process:
- Anna University conducts TANCET, an entrance exam for the admission to M.E/ M.Tech/ MBA/MCA courses in the month of April/May.
- For engineering courses, GATE score is also acceptable. The candidates who sit in the GATE exam need not appear for TANCET.
- After the announcement of TANCET results, candidates who have cleared the entrance exam will have to register for Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TNCA).
- A merit and rank list will be released by TNCA.
- Candidates will have to attend the counselling process on the scheduled date.
- The seat allocation will be done on the basis of merit, candidates’ preference and availability of seats.
- After the seat allocation, the candidates will have to pay the fee to confirm the admission.
