Eligibility Criteria for M.Com Entrance Exams 2024
Candidates seeking admission to various reputed colleges/ universities for the M.Com degree course in 2024 must know that it is imperative to qualify all the eligibility criteria set by the preferred institution of their choice. Candidates must visit the official website of the institution that they are applying for in order to check their precise eligibility requirements. Candidates must only proceed forward if they meet all the eligibility criteria set forth by the institution of their choice. Candidates who do not meet the required eligibility criteria will not be able to appear for the M.Com entrance examination of their preferred university/ college.
The eligibility criteria for various commerce colleges/ universities differ from each other but there are a few of the common eligibility criteria that are the same for all the institutions. The common eligibility criteria for most of the colleges/ universities are as follows:
- Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- There is no maximum age limit to apply for the M.Com degree course at most colleges/ universities.
- Candidates must have passed their graduation (preferably B.Com/ BBA/ BTM/ Bachelor of Arts OR Science with Economics and/ or Mathematics) from a recognized institution in India.
- Candidates must have secured a minimum aggregate percentage of 50% (for the General category) and 45% for SC/ ST/ PwD category of candidates. Candidates must note that the minimum aggregate percentage required varies from institution to institution.
M.Com Entrance Exam Pattern 2024
Different M.Com entrance exams have their own exam pattern, where some exams have only one paper whereas, others have two papers. Below we have in detail provided the exam pattern of some of the exams.
DU M.Com (now DU CUET PG)
DU M.Com consist of 4 sections having equal weightage. Each section is of 100 marks and 25 questions are asked from each section. The four units are:
- Accounting and Auditing
- Business Statistics, Business Mathematics and Taxation including GST
- Economics
- General Management, Business Law, Company Law, Corporate Governance and Entrepreneurship
Allahabad University PGAT
The Allahabad University PGAT examination is divided into two sections, PGAT I and PGAT II. PGAT I is conducted for conventional subjects while PGAT II is conducted for non-conventional/ specialized subjects. The entrance exam for M.Com is conducted in PGAT I. There will be a total of 300 questions in PGAT I while the exam is conducted in both online and offline mode. For every correct answer, 2 marks will be awarded while for each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The maximum time allocated for the examination is 3 hours (180 minutes). The first 50 questions are compulsory for all the candidates taking the exam.
ANU PGCET
ANU PGCET or Acharya Nagarjuna University Post Graduate Common Entrance Test is conducted for admission into the PG courses. A total of 100 questions are asked from each set of exams. The question paper will have only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and candidates can give the exam in English or Telegu. The exam is conducted for 1 hour and 30 minutes in both offline and online modes. While one mark will be given for every correct answer, there is no negative marking.
