There are numerous MCI recognised courses after MBBS that students can pursue without NEET PG such as bachelors, fellowships, diploma courses and so on. After completing MBBS courses students often get confused about the next career step or move. MCI-recognised courses often allow students to pursue specialisations of their interest without appearing for any entrance exams. The courses that are recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) cut out the competition and give medical students a shortcut to reach their career goals. These courses offer a range of opportunities and act as a base for students to explore the healthcare industry. List of MCI Recognised Courses after MBBS without NEET PG 2024

Candidates can find the list of MCI recognised courses after NEET PG stated below. 

  1. Fellowship Programs

Fellowship programs are an excellent alternative for MBBS course graduates as they allow medical practice or research apart from students. Students often get a definite stipend amount of INR 25,000 to INR 50,000 during their studies and some fellowships are 100% sponsored by the government or the university. 

These programs are focused on training students in different fields and NEET PG scores are not mandatory here. Some of the notable fellowship program options include. 

  • Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine: The Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine program trains students to manage critically ill patients. It focuses on intensive care and medicine. 
  • Fellowship in Emergency Medicine: Fellowship in Emergency Medicine trains students for high-end emergencies and teaches them to handle emergencies without panicking. 
  • Fellowship in Occupational Medicine: Fellowship in Occupational Medicine focuses on the overall health and safety of workers. It addresses health issues in the workplace environment. 
  • Fellowship in Family Medicine: Fellowship in Family Medicine emphasizes family healthcare and teaches students about family health and well-being. It also teaches about the healthcare of individuals and integrating curative, preventive and rehabilitative services. 
  • Diabetology Fellowship: The Diabetology fellowship teaches students about diabetes, its symptoms, identification and cure. It is a specialized fellowship that focuses on Diabetology and analyses its impacts. 
  • Clinical Embryology Fellowship: The Clinical Embryology Fellowship deals with Embryology infections and treatments. It addresses infertility concerns in patients and helps them to overcome them. The  Clinical Embryology Fellowship teaches students about infertility treatments, identifying symptoms, and ways to deal with the issues.
  1. Diploma Courses

Several diploma courses can be pursued post MBBS and don’t require NEET PG as qualifications. These diploma courses generally last two years and provide practical skills and knowledge in specific specializations. Some of the diploma specializations approved by MIC include the following: 

  • Diploma in Child Health (DCH): Diploma in Child Health (DCH) focuses on pediatric medicines and teaching students about children’s healthcare. 
  • Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology (DGO): Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology trains students in women's health and issues related to it.
  • Diploma in Anaesthesia (DA): A diploma in Anaesthesia prepares candidates to administer anaesthesia and manage students undergoing surgery.
  • Diploma in Radiology (DMRD): Diploma in Radiology centres diagnosing imaging techniques. It equips students with the right skills to interpret radiological images.  
  1. Certificate Courses

Candidates wanting short-term courses of international value can opt for certificate courses. These courses have a duration of max six months or a bit more or have flexible time options. Below are the certificate courses that are MIC-approved and do not require NEET PG examinations.

  • Certificate Course in Diabetes Educator: This course trains students in healthcare and makes them a professional in Dibetology. It educates students in diabetes management.
  • Certificate in Geriatric Medicine: Certificate in Geriatric Medicine Focuses on the healthcare requirements of the elderly population. It prepares graduates to address age-related health issues and trains them regarding the treatments. 
  • Certificate in Palliative Care: Certificate in Palliative Care emphasizes providing relief from the symptoms and stress of serious illness. It focuses on improving the quality of life for patients and their families.

4. International Opportunities

Many MBBS students consider pursuing postgraduate courses abroad. They often prefer pursuing their further medical degrees in first-world countries like the UK, USA, and Australia, where MCI recognizes various qualifications. Some popular International degrees approved by MCI include the following:

  • MD in Internal Medicine: The MD in Internal Medicine program provides in-depth training in diagnosing and treating adult diseases.
  • General Surgery: The general surgery program focuses on surgical procedures and patient care before, during, and after surgery.
  • Paediatrics: The Paediatrics course trains graduates to specialize in children's health, covering a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Dermatology: The Dermatology program focuses on skin-related health issues, including diseases, cosmetic procedures, and dermatological surgery.
