MITID B.Des Eligibility Criteria 2024

Meeting the B.Des eligibility criteria of MITID Pune is mandatory for students who aspire to secure a seat in any of the UG courses that the institute offers. The eligibility criteria for B.Des at MIT Institute of Design have been given below.

• The candidate must have completed his/ her education up to the higher secondary level or its equivalent.

• The school from which the applicant obtains his/ her class 12th degree must function under a recognized state or central board of education like the ISC, the CBSE, etc.

• The candidate should have scored more than 45 % marks in aggregate in his/ her class 12th board exams.

• Students from all streams and disciplines can apply for admission.

• All the aspiring candidates will have to appear for and clear the MIT Institute of Design - Design Aptitude test.

• Students who are appearing for their final year exam are also eligible to apply.

• The candidate must have received passing marks in all the subjects of the 10 + 2 level.

MITID M.Des Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria for M.Des at MITID Pune have been listed below. All aspiring candidates must go through these prerequisites if they seek admission to any M.Des program offered at the MIT Institute of Design.

• The candidate must have completed his/ her education up to the graduation level.

• A Bachelor's degree in design is required to be eligible for all the M.Des programs at MITID Pune.

• For admission to M.Des in Product Design, Retail Design, Transportation Design, and Interior Space & Furniture Design, students who have an undergraduate degree in Architecture, Engineering, Industrial Design, or Science can also apply.

• For admission to M.Des in Graphic Design and Animation Film Design, candidates who have done their graduation in Fine Arts, Media, Applied Arts, Film, Literature, Animation, or any communication design discipline can apply as well.

• The candidate must have scored more than 45 to 50 % marks in graduation and should have cleared the exams of all the subjects.

• All aspiring students will be required to appear for and clear the MIT Institute of Design - Design Aptitude.

• Those who are appearing for their final year exam are also eligible to apply.

MIT Institute of Design Admission Process 

Students planning to apply at the MIT Institute of Design must check out the admission process mentioned below: 

• Phase 1. MIT DAT: MIT DAT (Design Aptitude Test) is a common entrance exam conducted to grant admission in both the BDes and MDes programs at MITID. Candidates who are shortlisted based on MIT DAT score will be further eligible for phase 2. 
• Phase 2. Studio Test and Personal Interview: Phase 2 of MIT Institute of Design admission includes a studio test followed by a personal interview.

MITID Selection Process 2024

The selection process of MITID Pune is carried out in three rounds. These rounds are:

• MITID Design Aptitude Test
• Studio Test
• Personal Interview

All the applicants have to appear for the MITID DAT entrance exam. Those who qualify for the examination will be called for further rounds of studio tests and personal interviews.
