Apart from organising numerous events as part of college fests, these annual events play a vital role in coming up with new technologies, apps and innovations. St. Xavier’s College's Malhar 2020

Malhar, conducted by St. Xavier’s College, is one of the most popular college fests conducted in Mumbai. The fest has an incredible 35-year old legacy of being a harbinger of talent. It is the second-largest college fest in Asia. The organisation of this huge fest is no small feat either.

The organising team of the annual fest is divided into 19 departments ranging from finance and marketing to public relations and events. The 19 departments work at least 10 hours per day to devise interactive social media strategies and promotional ideas based on the current trends. The student appointed as the Vice-Chairperson of the fest also has an immense responsibility to ensure the fest's success.

IIT Bombay's Mood Indigo 2020

Mood Indigo, the largest college fest in Asia, is a sight to behold every year. It is a 4-day festival organised by IIT Bombay in December that attracts a crowd of over 1.4 lakh students from all over the country. If that doesn't drop your jaw, the following information about the fest surely will.

Mood Indigo usually has over 200 events and students get to witness many international artists perform. Plus, the scale of participating in the fest is unbelievably large. In 2019 itself, the fest saw participation from more than 1,700 colleges. Even though they are armed to the teeth with quite a large budget, to even imagine that students help plan and execute an event of this scale at a professional level is truly astonishing. 

Lala Lajpat Rai College's Tsunami 2020

The annual fest of Lala Lajpat Rai College, Tsunami is one of the longest-running management festivals in the country. The fest is being conducted for more than 20 years and has only increased in popularity and flair.

Students of the BMS course at Lala Lajpat Rai College organise the fest every year and spare no effort in ensuring that the fest is a huge success. There is usually a pre-event planned and many activities are organised to raise excitement about the fest. From using popular hashtags on social media to events conducted in large malls, there is a lot that keeps life happening and fun when Tsunami hits the town. 

Mithibai College's Kshitij 2020

Mithibai College employs different marketing strategies to promote the annual college fest Kshitij. The budget of the college fest has gone up over the years, and more money is being spent paying artists to perform at pro-nites. The college also offers attractive prizes to participants.

This annual festival is also quite huge with more than 50 events and 500+ participating colleges. Events related to Photography, Gaming, Music, Dance etc. are part of this fest. It is also known for regularly hosting famous musicians and film stars. 

Narsee Monjee's Umang 2020

Umang at Narsee Monjee College is another popular annual college fest in Mumbai. It is estimated that more than 50,000 students attend this college fest every year. Students from colleges in Mumbai as well as many other cities register and participate in the fest. The organising team also invites international participants from many countries.

Umang helps develop leadership skills in a student. The volunteers learn to delegate, think and motive independently. Plus, coordinating the team of 500+ volunteers is a task in itself.
