Predict My College

Amidst the NEET 2024 paper leak controversy, the government authority and NTA might bring in some changes to the NEET 2025 exam. To ensure transparency and accountability, it is anticipated that the exam pattern and mode of the NEET exam 2025 might change. However, the students preparing to appear in the NEET 2025 exam must be aware of the changes expected in guidelines and regulations. Read the article to understand the expected changes in the NEET 2025 exam, eligibility criteria, NEET syllabus 2025, and other relevant details.

Changes in NEET 2025 Exam Mode

As of now, the NEET exam is conducted in an offline mode in a pen-and-paper format. However, due to the large-scale NEET paper leak controversy and widespread protest by the students, chances of conducting NEET 2025 in an online mode have increased. The government and NTA (the NEET exam conducting body) have been consistently looking for a viable option to avoid any malpractices. Therefore the changes in the NEET 2025 exam mode can be made to avoid the paper leak scam and to conduct the exam fairly. However, it must be noted that the official statement has not been released by NTA. The National Medical Council’s (NMC) decision is yet to be implemented.

Expected Changes in NEET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

An official notification of NEET 2025 is yet to be released, however, no major changes are expected in the NEET 2025 eligibility criteria. It is likely to be the same as last year. The major change in NEET eligibility criteria was done in 2023, wherein PCM students were allowed to appear for the UG medical entrance exam if they had Biology/ Biotechnology as an additional subject. The basic expected NEET 2025 eligibility criteria have been listed below. If any candidate fails to comply with the NEET eligibility criteria, he/she can be debarred from appearing in the exam.

  • Age Limit- The minimum age limit for the candidates to apply for NEET 2025 is 17 years. However, there is no upper age limit.
  • Educational Qualification- The candidates must have passed 12th from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology as the subjects. However, non-biology students can also appear for the NEET exam 2025 if they have Biology or Biotechnology as an extra subject.
  • Minimum Score: The unreserved candidates must score 50% marks in the 12th whereas the reserved category candidates must score 40% marks in the 12th exam.
