NEET 2024 Seat Matrix is officially released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in. As per the latest notification shared by the National Medical Commission (NMC), there will be around 1,08,915 seats in MBBS courses within 706 medical colleges. This includes 55000 government medical colleges and the remaining 53915 are private. 

Tamil Nadu records the highest number of medical seats in NEET 2024 i.e. 11225. Karnataka with 11020 and Uttar Pradesh with 9253 medical seats stand 2nd and 3rd in states that are providing the highest number of MBBS seats. The MBBS/BDS seats in NEET 2024 will be allotted via 15% AIQ counselling and 85% state quota NEET Counselling 2024

  • The seat matrix for NEET 2024 is released at mcc.nic.in few days before the AIQ NEET counselling begins. 
  • Since, JIPMER and AIIMS MBBS entrance exams has been taken over by NEET, the NEET seat matrix 2024 will also include 2196 MBBS seats in 21 AIIMS Colleges. 
  • AIIMS, AMU, and JIPMER seat matrices are released on the same website. However, separate PDFs for these medical institutions are made available. 
  • Admission into BAMS, BUMS, and BHMS is also granted by accepting scores obtained in the NEET UG 2024 Exam.
  • The NEET seat matrix for BAMS, BUMS, and BHMS will be published by Ayush Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) at aaccc.gov.in.

NEET 2024 Seat Matrix in India Increased – MBBS & BDS Admissions

Over the years, there has been a significant increase in the number of medical seats in the country. With the rise in total MBBS CourseBDS Course seats through NEET, aspirants can evaluate their chances of getting admission to private, government, and central/deemed universities. As per the regulations of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), JIPMER Puducherry and AIIMS Delhi now also grant admission to nearly 349 JIPMER MBBS seats and 1,899 AIIMS MBBS seats on the basis of NEET scores.  

Moreover, following the implementation of the EWS quota in NEET by the government, more MBBS and BDS seats have been added to the existing ones. As per reports, over 5,170 MBBS seats were added for the academic session 2021-22 and the numbers have only gone up so far.

NEET Seat Allotment Process is conducted during the counselling sessions held online. These allotments are done by releasing a consolidated NEET seat allotment lists, which consists of names of the students along with their allotted colleges, NEET AIR and score obtained.
