FAQs

Are the seat reservations consistent across all NID campuses?

No, the seat reservations are not consistent across all NID campuses. The National Institute of Design (NID) has seven campuses located around India, each with its seat matrix for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The seat matrix sets the number of seats available for each programme as well as the percentage of those seats reserved for various student groups.

Are there any specific criteria or documents required for claiming reservation seats at NID?

Yes, claiming reservation seats at NID necessitates the submission of particular criteria and documentation. During the admission procedure, candidates must follow the requirements and produce the relevant documentation proving their eligibility for the reserved category.

What is the policy for seat reservations for foreign nationals at NID?

NID reserves 15% of total seats for international students throughout all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This means a certain percentage of available seats are reserved for international students. The precise number of seats allotted for foreign nationals varies by programme.

Do NID campuses have different seat matrices for undergraduate and postgraduate programs?

Yes, the seat matrices at NID campuses differ for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. NID offers undergraduate Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes and postgraduate Master of Design (M.Des) programmes.
