National Institute of Design (NID) Seat Intake and Reservation Policy
NID has clear rules about how many students can join each course and how seats are reserved for everyone who wants to join NID. Here, you can find all the details about how many seats are available for each course at each campus, and how reservations work.
NID Seat Intake and Reservation Policy: The National Institute of Design (NID) stands tall among the country's top design schools. Every year, the institute revises its reservation policy and seat allocation based on current needs. Back in 2019, all NID campuses collectively offered 100 seats for the B.Des program. But in 2020, they upped the ante by adding 28 more seats. Similarly, for the M.Des program, seats jumped from 275 to 347. Presently, there are 425 seats for B.Des and 347 for M.Des. Admissions to these courses hinge on the NID DAT 2024 entrance exam. Overseas candidates also saw an increase in available seats for both programs. Reserved category students like SC, ST, and OBC can apply through the open category or their specific one. To be considered for reservation, candidates must specify their category in the application. The criteria for reserved categories differ from the regular ones, and seats are allocated based on NID's policy across various disciplines. Candidates must understand the NID seat intake and reservation policy and seat allocation to gauge their admission prospects.
