Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University will use CUET for undergraduate admissions in 2024-2025. The university offers regular undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. courses, as well as part-time diploma and certificate programmes. The university imparts its teaching through five departments/schools: School of Veda-Vedanga, School of Sahitya and Sanskriti, School of Darshan, School of Adhunik Vidya, and School of Education. Undergraduate courses include Shastri (B.A), B.A. in Yoga, and Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed.). For the CUET 2024 exam, the university has included 20 UG courses, including Shastri (B.A) and BA in Yoga.

About Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University

The university, previously known as Sanskrit Vidyapeetha at Delhi was established on October 8, 1962. Later it was formed as a society under the name Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri was the founder and president of it. During his presidency, Shri Shastri declared it an International Institution. After the demise of Shri Shastri, the institution was taken over by the Government of India on December 21st, 1970 and started to act as a registered autonomous society. During this period, it was named Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha.  The university underwent several development processes which resulted in an outstanding overall performance. By inspecting its credibility and performance, the UGC approved the status of a Deemed to be University for this Vidyapeetha in the year 1987. It got the status of Central University on April 30, 2020. And at present, it exists as Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University.

Apart from the CUET eligibility criteria 2024, candidates need to meet the course-wise eligibility criteria set for the Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University UG admission. The university has Shastri 3 years or 4 years course which is equivalent to a B. A and B.A. Honors course. About 19 subjects are offered in this specialization. The university clearly stated in its advertisement that candidates willing to apply for the Shastri and B.A. in Yoga courses need to follow the National Testing Agency’s application format. The CUET 2024 application guide mentioned by NTA is as follows:

Step 1: Candidates need to register at the official portal of CUET which is https://cuet.samarth.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the Apply Online tab and thus the registration process will be initiated.

Step 3: To complete the registration process, candidates need to provide a valid email id and contact number. A strong password must be created according to the specifications mentioned by NTA.

Step 4: A system-generated application number is then mailed to the candidates’ registered mail id as proof of successful registration.

Step 5: The application number and password need to be used as the candidates’ login ID.

Step 6: After the successful login, candidates need to fill up the CUET Application Form 2024 with the personal and academic qualification details.

Step 7: In the next stage of the application process, a photograph, scan copy of the signature and other documents need to be uploaded. While uploading the candidates must follow the dimension specifications prescribed by the NTA.

Step 8: Selection of test centres, programmes, universities, and colleges should be entered according to the candidates’ preferences.

Step 9: A review of the included data must be done carefully.

Step 10: Modify if any changes are required. No modifications will be permitted at the next stage.

Step 11: Pay CUET 2024 application fees through credit card/debit card/internet banking.

Step 12: After the successful fee payment, candidates need to take the printable fee receipt.

Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University UG Admission Process

The CUET UG 2024 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency. After the exam, the agency will hand over the scores of the candidates to all the universities that participated in the CUET 2024 exam. But the agency will not prepare merit lists or organize any admission process. Both the tasks will be performed by the universities and they are permitted to follow their own rules for candidates’ selections.

However, the basic criteria for the candidates’ section would be based on CUET 2024 scores. Another parameter would be the university-prescribed eligibility criteria. Considering these two parameters, the universities will prepare a merit list. Each candidate selected on the merit list will be given a rank. Then they will be called for the counseling sessions/interview. A candidate will be finally admitted according to the performance of the interview/counseling, seat availability, etc.
