Tamil Nadu (TANCET) MCA Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025

The detailed and latest eligibility criteria to apply for MCA admission in the state of Tamil Nadu through the TANCET exam are as follows - 

• Applicants with a B.Sc (CS/IT) or BCA degree from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks can apply OR

• Any bachelor’s degree holder (3-year minimum) who have studied mathematics at the +2 level or graduation level with an overall aggregate score of 50% can apply

• Reserved category applicants with either of the following qualifications can apply with an aggregate score of 45%

Candidates with a qualifying degree in any of the following patterns can apply for MCA admission in Tamil Nadu through TANCET - 

1. 10 + 2 + 3 / 4 / 5 years Pattern 

2. 10 + 3 years Diploma + 3 years Pattern 

3. (i) 10 + 2 + AMIE (or) 10 + 3 years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE

Candidates who were interested in appearing in the TANCET 2025 exam for MCA admission had to complete the registration process. To complete the registration process candidate had to keep certain documents like a passport-size photograph, adhar card, mark sheets, category certificate, etc handy. The application fee for MCA admission in Tamil Nadu is INR 800/- for general candidates and INR 400/- for reserved category candidates.

Step 1: TANCET 2025 Registration 

Candidates must complete the one-time registration:

• Visit the TANCET 2025 official exam website at tancet.annauniv.edu.
• Click on the 'Click Here' button next to the wording 'For Online Registration'. 
• Enter your name, email address, mobile phone number, date of birth, password, SSLC registration number, nativity, and other information.
• Create a password and select a PG professional course based on TANCET 2025 for admission.
• Enter the captcha code before clicking the 'Submit' button.

Step 2: TANCET Login

After finishing the registration, applicants will receive an email informing them that their one-time registration for TANCET 2025 is complete, and they may proceed to fill out the application form. TANCET login is aided by a registered email ID and password. After logging in, candidates must fill out the application form and submit the required papers.

Step 3: Filling Out Personal Information on the TANCET Application Form

Candidates can now enter their personal information. Applicant must fill gender, nationality, address, city, state, pincode.  After entering the required information, applicants must click the 'Next' option.

Step 4: Filling Out the Educational Information on the TANCET Application Form

Candidates must complete the TANCET application procedure by providing academic information. The following are the academic information that must be included while filling out the application form:

• Class 10 SSLC registration number
• The registration number for the year of passing SSLC/Class 10 HSC/Class 12
• Year of HSC/Class 12 completion
• Year of graduation from the qualifying degree
• Name of the qualifying degree
• Qualification degree specialization

After providing educational details, candidates must click on the 'Next' option.

NOTE: Candidates awaiting the results of their qualifying exams can also apply. Candidates must enter NA in the section for 'Year of Passing' the degree.

Step 5: Fill Examination Details

After completing the academic information, candidates must select the exam city from the list of TANCET exam centre locations. Additionally, candidates must select the course name of TANCET for admission. After completing the exam information, click the "Save & Continue" option.

Candidates must provide documents, including a photograph and signature at this stage of the TANCET application form. To avoid cancellation of the application, the papers must be uploaded in a specified format and guidelines The following is the procedure for uploading a photograph and signature when completing the TANCET form:

• Select the picture file from the system.
• If the image seems fine after the preview, click the 'Upload' button.
• After the image has been uploaded, click the 'Next' button.

Step 7: Verify the information on the TANCET Application Form.

After the applicants have completed all of the previous procedures, the final step is to confirm all of the details. Candidates can examine all of the information they provided as well as a preview of the photographs they uploaded, at this step. Candidates must correct any wrong details if they find anything.

Step 8: TANCET Application Fee Payment

Candidates must pay an application fee based on their category after validating the data given in the TANCET application form. Candidates in the reserved category will receive a fee reduction. Candidates must log in with their registration details and enter their college choices in an order of decreasing preference as and when the choice filling process for TN MCA admission begins.
