Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee

IIT Roorkee is a public technical university established in 1847 in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. The institute offers courses in a variety of disciplines including B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Arch, M.Tech, MSc., PGD, MIE, MBA, Ph.D etc. The fees structure varies from programme to programme. For admission in B.Arch course in IIT Roorkee, it is mandatory for candidates to have a minimum 75% score in their class 12 examination from any recognized board.

Selection of candidates is done based on the scores obtained by them in the JEE Advanced exam. The fees structure for pursuing B.Arch course is Rs. 2.14 lakh per year whereas the fees for M.Arch is Rs.23,250 per year. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline for admission in M.Arch course and selection is done based on the GATE scores and COAP counselling.

National Institute of Technology, Calicut

National Institute of Technology, Calicut established in 2007 is a public university offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of science and technology. It has been ranked 2nd by the NIRF ranking 2022 for its architecture courses. The institute offers numerous courses some of which are B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MSc., M.Plan, M.C.A etc. Admission into B.Arch courses at NIT Calicut is offered on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in the JEE Main exam. The average fee structure for B.Arch course at NIT Calicut is Rs.1.37 lakh per year.

Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

Being one of the top premier institutes in India, IIT Kharagpur is held in high esteem by students across the country for its educational excellence, wide alumni network and impeccable placement record. IIT Kharagpur offers 87 courses including B.Tech, LL.B, B.Arch, MSc., M.B.A, M.Tech, LL.M etc. Candidates aspiring for admission into B.Arch course at IIT Kharagpur must have cleared their class 12 with minimum 70% marks with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects.

Candidates clearing the JEE Main Paper 2 exam will be eligible to appear for Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) which candidates must clear to secure admission in B.Arch course at IIT Kharagpur. The average fee to enroll into B.Arch course at IIT Kharagpur is 2.12 lakh per year.

School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi

Affiliated to the Delhi University, the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi was recognized as “An Institute of National Importance under an Act of Parliament” in 2015. The institute specializes in courses offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in the areas of design, architecture, planning and management. Some of the courses offered by the college include B.Arch, B.Plan, M.Arch, M.Plan, M.Des etc.

The annual fee for BArch course at SPA is Rs.31,300 whereas it is Rs.39,100 for M.Arch course. Candidates must secure minimum 50% marks in their class 12 exam with Physics, chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects and they must also have a valid JEE Main score to be eligible for admission into B.Arch course at SAP Delhi. For admission in M.Arch course, candidates must have a B.Arch degree with 55% marks and selection is done via GATE exam/ CEED exam.

National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli

Established in 1964 and formerly known as the Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirapalli, NIT Tiruchirapalli is popular for its M.Tech and B.Tech courses. It offers courses in B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MArch, MCA, MBA, MSc., M.A. etc. The average annual fee to pursue B.Arch in NIT Tiruchirapalli is Rs. 1.61 lakh and the annual course fee for M.Arch is 1.06 lakh. Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi

Jamia Millia Islamia is one of the most prestigious institutes in India offering a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in the fields of science, humanities, commerce, architecture, technology, hospitality etc. The institute offers courses such as B.Tech, BSc., B.A., B.Com, B.Arch, M.Arch, M.A., M.B.A etc. Admission is granted in B.Arch course on the basis of the JEE Main scores of the candidates whereas the institute conducts an entrance exam for admission in M.Arch courses. Established in 2008, School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal is a private college offering courses such as B.Arch, B.Plan, M.Arch, M.Plan, etc. The course fee for both B.Arch and M.Arch is Rs. 50,000 each per year. Candidates must have secured 75% marks in class 12 alongwith and their JEE Advanced/ JEE Main scores will be evaluated for admission in B.Arch course.
