MBBS 2024 Admission Process at AIIMS
The MBBS admission process at AIIMS involves fulfilling the AIIMS MBBS 2024 eligibility criteria, qualifying the NEET UG exam, merit list and counselling, and seat allocation. The various stages of the MBBS 2024 admission process at AIIMS have been provided below.
Fulfilling the AIIMS MBBS 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Apart from obtaining the minimum qualifying marks in the NEET UG exam, candidates must also fulfill other eligibility requirements. Candidates for the NEET UG exam must be older than 17 years as of December 31 of the year of admission. It is also mandatory for the candidates to have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects. General category candidates must secure a minimum of 60% aggregate marks, while reserved category candidates require a minimum of 50%.
Qualifying the NEET UG Exam
After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree, candidates aspiring to enrol in the AIMS institutes must appear for the NEET 2024 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Registration for the NEET 2024 exam must be completed online through the official NTA NEET website. 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) are divided equally among Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Each question carries 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
AIIMS Counselling and Seat Allocation
A merit list will be prepared by AIIMS based on NEET scores where the names of those candidates who meet the cut-off scores are included. Candidates will be allotted seats based on their rank, preferences, and availability of seats. Allocation of seats will be done based on various categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, and PWD). There will be different cut-off scores for NEET each year on the basis of the difficulty of the exam and other factors. After appearing for the counselling process, candidates must pay the admission fees to confirm their seats.
