Types of UPSC NDA Cutoff 2024

UPSC NDA passing marks 2024 will be released in two stages- NDA written exam cutoff and final NDA cutoff. UPSC announced the cutoff for the NDA written exam and the final NDA cutoff. The NDA written exam cutoff implies the minimum percentage of marks that candidates must obtain to qualify for the NDA written exam. The UPSC has set a minimum qualifying cutoff of 25% marks in mathematics paper and 25% marks in GAT paper each. The final NDA result is made public along with the official aggregate cutoff. The Final UPSC NDA cutoff is the combined or aggregate score that a candidate secures in the NDA written exam and SSB interview. See the points below for more information on the different NDA 2024 cutoffs.

UPSC NDA Qualifying Cut-off 2024

The minimum NDA cutoff that the UPSC specifies in the NDA notice is known as the "NDA qualifying cut off marks". It is the minimum score a candidate must obtain to qualify for a particular stage and move on to the next round of the NDA 2024 exam. The NDA cutoff for the written exam is a score of 25% in each subject. To advance to the next step of the NDA selection process, an applicant must achieve the aggregate NDA cut off in addition to the minimum qualifying cutoff marks. For each NDA exam, a separate aggregate NDA cutoff is used.

After the official publication of the final results, the NDA cutoff for both exam sessions is made public. NDA cutoff is made public separately for the knowledge examination and the selection. The written exam's cutoff is determined out of 900 marks. Only Objective-type questions will be asked in the UPSC NDA exam. The UPSC NDA exam is conducted for two subjects: Mathematics and General Ability Test. For every incorrect answer, 1/3rd of the total marks allotted for a particular question will be deducted.

Subjects/Paper

Maximum Marks

Mathematics

300 marks

General Ability Test (Part A: General English)
General Ability Test (Part B: General Knowledge)

600 marks

The last recommended candidates' scores out of 1800 are used to determine the final selection cutoff (900 marks for the written exam and 900 marks for SSB Interview). The NDA Minimum Qualifying Marks and cutoff marks are different. Candidates must obtain more than the NDA cutoff and the minimum qualifying marks to become eligible to proceed to the next selection round, i.e., the SSB Interview process. Then, the final NDA cutoff marks will be determined out of a total score of 1800 which will be calculated based on the total scores obtained in the written test and the interview. The prescribed qualifying NDA cutoff marks for each subject is 25%. Applicants must achieve different cutoff scores in the written exam and SSB Interview to qualify for the NDA exam. Post that, candidates are suggested for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy based on the NDA cutoff.

The exam conducting authority calculates the NDA Passing Marks based on the following factors:

  • Number of candidates who appeared in the exam.

  • Total number of vacancies released.

  • Difficulty level of the NDA exam

UPSC NDA Result 2024

Candidates must qualify for the UPSC NDA 2024 written exam to be eligible to appear for the SSB interview.
