The CSAB has commenced the registration process on July 31, 2024. The vacant seats for the NIT+ system are filled through CSAB special rounds 1 and 2. CSAB also conducts a supernumerary round for admission to UTs like Andaman, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli in the NITs. Other CSAB NEUT rounds are also conducted for allocating seats under North-East states and territories. Who is eligible for CSAB special round counselling 2024?
Let us have a look at the eligible candidates for the CSAB special round counselling 2024.
- Applicants who have not registered in the JoSAA counseling rounds but are eligible as per the eligibility criteria.
- Applicants who have registered in JoSAA but were not granted a seat.
- Applicants participating in the JoSAA have been allotted seats. However, the seat is canceled due to non-payment of seat acceptance fees.
- Applicants who have participated in JoSAA and have been allotted seats in IIT but have canceled seat post document verification, withdrawn from the allotted seats, have taken admission therein.
- Applicants who participated in JoSAA have been allocated seats in the NIT+ system and have been admitted to the allotted college after paying the seat acceptance fee and partial acceptance fees.
- Applicants who have opted for the exit option for JoSAA.
- Applicants who have participated in JoSAA 2024 have been allocated seats in the NIT+ system but have withdrawn from the allotted seats.
- Applicants who have participated in JoSAA but were allocated seats in the NIT+ system but the seat got cancelled after document verification. They should not have been allotted seats in any JoSAA rounds.
- Applicants who have participated in the JoSAA have been allocated seats in the NIT+ system and have paid the seat acceptance fees and documents have been verified successfully. However the seats have been canceled due to payment not being done.

Does CSAB accept category rank?
Only the candidate’s CRL rank is considered in CSAB allotment. Candidate’s category won't be taken into consideration for CSAB seat allotment.
Who is eligible for CSAB counselling in 2024?
As per the eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification, all the candidates who are eligible for JoSAA NIT system as per their JEE Main 2024 ranks are eligible for participating in the CSAB 2024 special round counselling.
Can candidates participate in CSAB if they withdraw from JoSAA?
Yes. Candidates can participate in the CSAB special round if they withdraw their allotted seat from JoSAA.
Is 75% criteria required for CSAB counselling?
Candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%. Candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
Which rank is considered in the CSAB special round?
Candidates’ rank in the Common Rank List i.e. CRL rank will be used in CSAB Special Round. This will not affect the reserved category seats since Category Quota seats are allotted to candidates of that category only. Thus, seat allotment is the same except the fact that CRL ranks are used in the CSAB Counselling.
How many rounds are there in CSAB?
Two special rounds of seat allocation are organized by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) to allocate the unfilled seats of the NIT+ System after the 5th JoSAA Round.
