Number of Engineering Seats in Karnataka 2024: The Higher Education Department has announced KCET 2024 seat matrix for engineering courses for the academic year 2024-45. Compared to last year, 7758 seats have been added to the existing seats. In total, this year, 1.32 lakh engineering seats in 245 engineering colleges will be filled through a counselling process that has not yet commenced. However, a total of 62,930 seats will be filled through KCET 2024 counselling.
Due to this, engineering aspirants have a higher chance to pursue their undergraduate course in engineering this year. Previously, there was a cap on increasing engineering seats, however, this year, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has provided relaxation on the engineering seats. Earlier, colleges had to submit proposals requesting to a local committee for seat increase, but now colleges directly submit their plea to AICTE, and before their approval, the colleges have increased their seats this year.
