14 students of Seelampur slum area secured admissions in Delhi University.
14 students of Seelampur slum area secured admissions in Delhi University. It’s a rural area where most of the parents are rickshaw pullers, daily wage labourers, street vendors and much more. These students managed to get admissions in the two cut-offs list. Out of 14 students, 12 students are girls.
This year, a total number of 78 students have attended for the Class XII CBSC examination from Seelampur Slum area. Out of them, 12 students secured marks above 80%. An NGO organisation, Asha has been working in this area to promote education.
Heena, who secured 84% in Class XII managed to get admission in BA in Zakir Hussian College. Similarly, Saugatha secured a seat in Urdu Honours in Kirori Mal College. She secured 86.5% in Class XII. Her father is a street vendor.
This year, the University received 2,50,000 applications for 54,000 seats among 63 colleges affiliated to Delhi University.
