The university was initially directed to reserve two seats in all of the colleges affiliated to it, even for courses that were not approved by the NBA. The reservation has been provided to the Jammu and Kashmir students under the supernumerary quota.
Registrar of the university, MA Khan said that the quota has not been changed for colleges other than the engineering colleges. The only change is that the UGC has said that technical colleges should have at least one NBA-accredited course. He also informed that prior to this, it was applicable to all the recognised higher education institutes.
