38% Engineering Seats Vacant in Maharashtra
A separate merit list will be announced on 6-August-2016 and the final merit list will be announced on 8-August-2016.
The fourth round of seat allotment for the engineering admissions in Maharashtra concluded on 30-July-2016. After the allotment, around 51,000 seats still remain vacant. A total number of 84,384 seats were allotted in the fourth round. The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has taken the initiative to fill up the remaining engineering seats. The DTE has requested the state government to open the application process to fill up the admissions. The state government has accepted the request of DTE.

The online registration process for filling vacant seats was opened on 30-July-2016. The online portal for filling applications closes on 5-August-2016. This facilitates the students who did not get admissions in the four allotments. The students who qualified the instant/improvement examinations can also apply for the seat allotment. A separate merit list will be announced on 6-August-2016 and the final merit list will be announced on 8-August-2016.

The fourth round of seat allotment faced technical glitch and the merit list was delayed for several hours. The website was very slow and the students were unable to access merit list till 4.00 PM. The website did not have the updated link of the merit list. The merit list was expected to be out by 3.00 PM.
