According to AIU, the matter was placed before the Equivalence Committee on January 5. It further informed that the committee has made it clear that all these courses will only be permitted if the candidates clear the eligibility criteria i.e. bachelor degree in any field.
Master’s degree equivalence offered by FTII will enable the institute to attract more students who want to pursue higher education in this field. This will be applicable to students who joined FTII in 2016 and later.
FTII was trying to introduce these courses since 2011. A four-member AIU Committee visited the institute in December 2016 regarding the same and talked to the faculty and students of the institute. Detailed presentations were made by the heads of department and faculty members before the AIU Committee.
