JEE Main: 75% Marks in Class 12th Not Mandatory for NIT, IIIT and GFTI Admission 2021
After the HRD Minister announced the relaxation of mandatory 75% criteria in Class 12th for admission in IITs, the same relaxation has been announced for admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
Union HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal announced the relaxation of 75% criteria for admission in IITs, and the announcement has been made on mandatory 75% criteria for admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The eligibility has been relaxed and 75% of marks in Class 12th not mandatory for admission in NITs, IIITs & GFTIs. The relaxation was given in 2020, and the same has been implemented for 2021.
Considering the decision taken for IIT JEE(Advanced) and in line with the decision taken for the last academic year, it has been decided to waive off the 75% marks (in class 12 exam) eligibility criteria under Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for the next academic year 2021-2022

Union HRD Minister – Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishak announced that the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has relaxed the admission rules for NITs, IIITs and Centrally-Funded Technical Institutes. According to the new rules, 75% in Class 12th exams is not mandatory to get admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The candidates who have passed Class 12th with minimum qualifying marks can get admission in these institutes. However, the candidates must have a valid percentile in JEE Main to be eligible for the JoSAA counselling process.
Considering the difficult situations due to Covid-19, CSAB has relaxed the admission rules for NITs and CFTIs. Candidates must note that these rules will be applicable only for the academic session 2021-22
