86 NTA Test Practice Centres in Chhatisgarh Region: HRD Ministry

According to a report, the central government has said that the state of Chhatisgarh now has 86 'Test Practice Centres' (TPCs) for competitive examinations in a total of 21 districts across the state. The cumulative number of computers in these TPCs has now reached 8,067.

The Union HRD Minister Mr. Prakash Javadekar had inaugurated a network of about 3,400 test practice centres which are spread across 622 districts in India. As many as 25 TPCs also joined the inauguration through Google Hangouts on 17th September 2018.

The main motive behind the introduction of these new test centres is to give students an idea about the new exam pattern of the entrance exams which will be held online and to provide them enough scope of practice sessions on the new pattern before appearing for the exam. The TPCs will mostly facilitate smooth conduct of exams such as JEE and UGC NET which have to be taken online from the next time onwards.

The National Testing Agency has set up these Test Practice Centres so that transparency is maintained during the exams. It is also a way of making entrance exams more student-friendly, organised and leak-proof as per the NTA. Apart from that, NTA has also launched a practice App that enables students to practice on their home computers and smartphones, thereby taking competitive examination preparation to an altogether new level.

During an interview, Prakash Javadekar said that the government is committed to providing quality education to students in every corner of the country. The test practice centres will prove to be beneficial to especially those students who do not have access to computers and mobile phones.

NTA was established by HRD which is a premier examination organization to conduct various competitive exams.
