IAS Officers Association of Chhattisgarh takes initiative for a noble cause

IAS Officers Association of Chhattisgarh took an initiative for guiding the candidates who have cleared the Union Public Service Commission, Examination(UPSC) Mains for the year 2015-16. Recently the officers organized a workshop at DKS Campus, Raipur with the aim to help the students prepare for their Personal Interview

The workshop shared several aspects of examination like Tips for the Personal Interview, General Knowledge, Government Policies of Chhattisgarh, Naxalite Issues, Questioning based on the Resume

Talking about the Interview the IAS Officer Mr. R.Prasanna share several tips for the interview and said "You need to express yourself with Confidence. While saying anything don't make more of your hand movements. Do not say anything which can lead you to embarrassment. The truth spoken with a confidence makes your path to become an IAS Officer. While answering, remember you must talk for the sake of your country. Do not make your body language too loud, make a proper eye contact, sit straight. Your attire should be formal."

The students also asked about their various doubts.This is for the first time that IAS Officers took an initiative on their own to guide the students who have cleared the UPSC Mains.

IAS Officer Subrat Sahu also made himself a part of this workshop so that the students can get the answers to their queries.

The workshop also highlighted on topics the candidates have to be prepared

- Discussion on National Issues.

- JNU Controversy.

- Various MOUs of India which has done with other Countries.

- Budget.

- Gold Mine Auction of Chhattisgarh.

- Naxalite Movement.

- Questions on Aadiwasi Communities.

- Candidates are asked about their city, state & their own name.Questions relating to their Hobbies etc.

- The candidates may ask for their viewpoint on some controversial National or International issues.

What is the motive behind the INTERVIEW?

Mr.R.Prasanaa said, "the motive behind the interview is not at all to judge your knowledge since the candidate has already shown in the Mains.The Interview is to judge your presence of mind.It will analyze your capabilities to take the right decision in difficult times."

Mostly the interview continues for 30 to 40 minutes & sometimes it lasts for only 10 minutes. The interview panel is of five members who talk to the candidates. The panel comprises of Senior IAS Officials ,State Department Officials, Retired Officers, Experts on a particular stream & a Psychologist.

For every post, 3 candidates are called for the interview.Based on the marks of the Interview & Mains exam the final merit list is then prepared.

For guiding the students a Wats App group will be created which will be a Forum for them to share their problems.
