Navankur Foundation, an NGO which belongs to a group of Engineering students at Byron Bazar Raipur who is teaching more than 800 students for free.
They are conducting a crash course for JEE,CGPET, CGPMT and various other exams.
This year, the crash course started from 15th March it will last till 30th April. Navankur team constitutes 25 members.
Speaking with the President of Navankur Foundation, Mr. Hemant Mudliar who is an M.tech himself and had associated with a well known Coaching institute of Pune, said: “Coaching these days is a Business and I don’t know why a student who comes from a well-known School also needs coaching after his schools.” After he taught in an institution he realized all backlogs in the teaching pattern. According to him, a student coming from a remote area is equally talented as the students studying in convents, due to lack of proper resources the remote kids could not get that much of exposure.
He mentioned that the remote students are more enthusiastic than City students but they lack expression skills. The demotivating group affects a child's mind a lot and that can be any person like his peer group or may be his parents also.
When he realized all these things then Hemant & his good friend Mr. Ritesh Joshi who is the Secretary of Navankur decided to open Navankur Foundation where students can get the coaching for competitive examinations for free. After getting a good response last year, this year also they conducted the crash course for which more than 800 students registered.
Nankur group is operating from four centers in Chhattisgarh at Raipur,Bilaspur,Gevra & Korba. Daily 6 to 7 batches are conducted. Last year 30% students got selected in various good colleges of Chhattisgarh.
When Hemant was asked why you are doing this for free then he said "it is my contribution to the field of teaching. No one has the power to influence the life of a student than a teacher. So I respect my profession a lot. In our country people used to do DAAN every year but I feel funding a child’s education is far worthy then giving DAAN DAKSHINA".
